Title: New frame
Post by: Voodoocars on October 31, 2009, 08:32 PM
Swapped my wtp frame for a colony mvp today ready for tommorow. Its got a 14" rear compared to 13.75".  Will I notice?   Its about 1/2lb lighter as well...Bike is now 22lbs on the nose.  Save me havin' a dump before I go...

Can you really tell the difference between frames with a 1/4" change in length?

Have you had to lengthen the chain? if not you've still got the same rear end length

1/4" on the same type frameset would be noticable, but 1/4" on a different steed shouldnt be comparable due to the diff heights n geomtry of frames

Yeah- had to put extra links in the chain. It was too short by about 1/4" to be slammed where on the wtp the axle was mid dropout . The axle is now at the end of the dropout which I'm not too keen on.Might get a half link chain.

Ian you off to creation? What time? I went to 14" back end from 13.75 and it rides different but the angles have all changed too.

so its a longer back end then, i know it was very heavy at the rear, sure it was steal, balance point was near the brake mounts

Put a halflink on to bring the rear wheel closer. Can feel the difference in weight when airing on the vert but other than that, nothing.Need some Colony official forks to lighten up the front end...
The 'old person' you refer to Pete had dropped his bike a few times in the past and it knocked his bars back a bit. He put them forward a fraction today and hey presto, peg stalls ahoy  :daumenhoch:
Creation was virtually empty today. The roof had leaked in a few places but saw dust sorted that out pronto. 'Bout time more rad members showed up..
