Why not just chrome them? :knuppel2:
-
looks like the original finish , just buffed up a bit , threads look unmarked ???
-
cant buff a paint like finish ... whats with the "silver series " ::)
-
just got this replie
""In the early 80's Shimano did a "silver series" I.e there was more than one silver. You are thinking of the mat rougher finish right? That is the more usual type available. If you look at the pics you can see the White border around the raised "shimano" etc. Which is further evidence.
Look if you're not interested, don't bid but I can assure you these are genuine NOS."

ME TOO :LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol:
hear is his replie to me
No but I did give them a wipe to remove finger prints. These are of the "silver series". Not the normal "bare" alloy that maybe you're thinking of. Even the white rim around the raised cast writing is still visible. These are the real deal.
"""" sorry mate i think not """" he might have that ocd i have for polishing
-
that white edging he is on about around the raised 'SHIMANO' is were the buffer cannot get in....
-
Why not just chrome them? :knuppel2:
cos if you chrome onto alloy it's not long before it starts flaking :daumenhoch:
-
also made me laugh when i read about why the redline on one of the arms is thinner cos it has been professionally polished not that the chromer did not take care when polishing the bare arms before re chroming :LolLolLolLol:
