I got this Gen 2 Sport around two years ago from Eskildsen in Denmark, it had been well used 8)
Rear Dropouts cut out 14mm & 990s

Frame repaired & all the paint removed, then off to SBD for some powder
(http://www.radbmx.co.uk/archive/albums/b366/claire169/HaroSale033.jpg)
The Tuffs needed a bit of attention

I built it up, but was never really happy with it :(

Then in Germany this year Jay showed me this photo 8) & I knew what had to be done :)
But I can't bring myself to remove the Coaster Bracket :-\
(http://www.radbmx.co.uk/archive/albums/b366/claire169/RichSigur.jpg)
Another pair of O wings had to be found & dyed
(http://www.radbmx.co.uk/archive/albums/b366/claire169/IMG_3071.jpg)
I contacted Rich Sigur again & asked him if he could help me with some of the hard to see parts, like the stem, seat & what was on the plate.
The stem was an early Anlun prototype.
The seat is a Viscount Dyna, which was quite hard to find, but thanks to Radman I got a Nos one :daumenhoch:
Its 95% there now, just have to sort out the decals on the plate & its all done 8)
Then take some proper photo's

I've had a lot of help with this build, so big thanks to Jay, Joe8167, Rich Sigur, Juan, BrianP, Moose, Radman, Eskildsen, SBD & Del

i love a story that goes behind a build.....
-
Ditto !
Nice to see before pics, you did a great work on that one :daumenhoch: :daumenhoch:
Refresh my memory Chris, what's the difference between that stem and the regular Anlun ones???
Prototype because Rich got it earlier than any Haro owner ?
-
You've made me want one Chris - looks authentic and spot on, like it lots :)

I don't think there is much difference in the stems, but this is the closest I think I will get to a Prototype.
Yes as a Haro factory rider Rich Sigur & the other riders would get to see & use the parts before they went into full production.

Great work on the frame. Nobody would ever know that it had been repaired. :daumenhoch:
Are you happy with the shade of blue the Tuffs came out after they were dyed? Maybe it's the light blue of the seat that makes the wheels look a darker blue. You could always chuck that NOS seat in the pot to complete the look :D
-
Very tidy that Chris :daumenhoch:
Who did the frame repairs?

:LolLolLolLol:
The different colours of blue go together really well, The seat & brake cables are the same as the lightest blue on the decals & the Tuff's & the grips are the same as the darker blue.
Marty some of the frame repairs like the dropouts were done already by Allan :)
-
That's a great resto.
replicas rock!

The bike looks awesome and I'm glad you didn't take offence at my cheeky comments. :daumenhoch: There was hell on when someone left a reasonable comment about the chroming of a derailleur on N2CUS's racer :D
-
Love these resto threads, great build mate. :daumenhoch:
