From the hands of SuperBike Dan... after MUCH deliberation... here's a sneak peak on my Ltd. Ed. DP
Its been a bi*ch to find a colour match for the Ni-Bronze finish that was on the bike for a decent price and I would never have even got near without Firebird Steve & SBD :daumenhoch:
I'm like :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D - can't wait to build it.
( just a shame I forgot to put the forks into the package I sent to Dan... Me=twat :uglystupid2: SORRY DAN... THEY'LL BE WITH YOU THURSDAY )

That is one of the nicest finished frames I have seen in a long time 8)
Bet you are over the moon with that Ed , it's awesome :daumenhoch:
SBD, top job mate :4_17_5:
-
this was a killer of a job, the metal was shot to pieces, after two coats
of chrome silver, first coat just to fill the metal and seven coats of the
lacquer ??? i told Ed we'd get there in the end and we did :)
just cant believe he didnt send the forks :(
-
That looks soooooooooooooooo lush :smitten:
Amazing work Dan :4_17_5:

Wow !
Fookin lovin that finish :smitten:

That is lovely but i reckon we need some daylight shots of it to really see the colour of the finish. :4_17_5: :4_17_5:

F-COUGH!!!!! :P
They were wrapped and ready to go but I didn't put them in the box... but my brother in law who sent the parcel, and KNEW what I was sending SAW THEM next to the box and didn't bother telling me... just put them under the desk  I'd not seen anything left out as they had been TIDIED AWAY so I thought they went... :idiot2:
I have already apologised in full for scaring Dan by being 'sure' they had been sent and getting him to go and track the box down - I came clean on what had happened and Dan was pretty cool about it ( even though he was thinking :knuppel2: ) and I don't blame him.
Nothing can p*ss on my fire as... if you scroll up a little... little higher.... higher..... THATS MY BIKE HAHAHAHAHAAA YES!!!!!!!

tbh paul i really am mate, this job was way out of the norm for me, powder coat first then
two pack coloured lacquer, not what i do, if i could have got the top coat in powder then it would have
been so easy but these old skool bikes are and will always be a challenge and i always get
there in the end ;D >:( :( :daumenhoch:

did little bill paint it ?
-
Thanks to everyone for dropping comments on the frame - I do feel very very JAMMY
Its funny but when I first came on here you see peoples names and I thought 'SuperBikeDan' ... he must fancy himself :LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol:
...but if anyone has ever lived up to their name then its Dan... and I've been a SBD fan since the ABMX polka dot race bike from BITD!
Thanks to beard1973 for his BOTM comments... but its not really about that. Its supposed to be a survivor rather than a NOS dream machine and I'm trying to keep it as close to its 80s spec as possible ( that was the deal I made to get it for naught ) so it should look something like this...
( I've had to use some white Skyways until I find a rear OGK... and I've swapped the Rock bars for some Forklifters... everything else is reused )
... but MOST of all I WANT TO RIDE IT

* QUICK UPDATE *
The frame colour was a one off and matching the forks wasn't going to happen - so the forks will be silver chrome as it matches in well with the bike.
I've given up 'trying' to make it happen now - its easier to just follow the path its taking... go with the flow.
Forks, chainring ( de-adonized by Dan ) and pedals back next week then its hopefully finished in time for a ride down The Boardroom in Leicester :smitten:
