Right then, having reduced my stock of os frames to soemthing sensible I now want to "try" and do a bit of OS racing. Despite the fact that in Devon there appears to be none whatsoever, if the stars are right and with a following wind I may be able to enter some of the southern rounds in andover daggers or the like.
So my question is can you race on an ammaco freestyle pro frame or even an aero reflex frame, is this a bad idea for some geometry reason?
Or should I just stop being such a lamer, bite the bullet and use and abuse one of my beloved curtis race frames..
-
i dont see why not
-
i say go for it. the bike's small enough as it is, plus i think the different frame might help getting air over the jumps.
plus the fast people crash anywayin old skool .........plenty of time to catch them up!

This is what I was thinking, my ammaco has a longer tt than either of my curtis race frames..
-
the ammaco would be the better of the 2, i used to race a haro sport with spokes, no probs at all, if ya can ride it race it :daumenhoch:
-
no problem at all find the bike you feel comfy on and ride it weather its race of freestyle noone gives a damn
:LolLolLolLol:
-
I'm gonna be shite anyway so I could be riding a 5k carbon racer and still not be a threat...
-
I said NO to the freestyler before I read about the TT situation, soz!
-
I raced a Haro Master with a coaster brake a couple of years ago and it went ok :daumenhoch:
-
Yeah - why not.
I've got a 21" TT OS legal mid-school Redline freestyle bike just waiting to be unleashed.
-
Creamy raced a yellow GT Performer with Simplex mags around Manchester!!
And he's a right fatty!! ;D
Just get it raced!! :daumenhoch:

Using a Freestyle bike for racing will mash up your ankles wont it?
-
Well i loved OD's Haro Sport :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: Thought it looked the part with the spokes ;) didnt it have Standing Gear on it too? ???
-
Do it.... :daumenhoch:
I gave this a go but with an 18" TT i found it too short and i'm only 5'5"

Was a bit risky thinking bout how much the frame/forks are worth, i'd have been gutted to see it bouncing down the track

I raced a 85 master a good few years back at the Alans OS events, did alright, wouldn't say freestyle bikes are ideal, but its just a bit of fun and anyway, its not the bike , its the rider..... :D
Thats me, 2nd place off the line with the number 5 on the lid and on a 85 rattle can black master complete with l shape dropouts and freestyle tyre on the back for pure speed :LolLolLolLol:

It may just need a few regualar old schoolers to turn up and the floodgates will open.
Good luck. It'd be great if you could get an East Anglia series running!

I witnessed this event, awesome :LolLolLolLol:

Go for it :daumenhoch:
At O/S skill level or ability of racing it won't matter freestyle or race frame ::)
To be honest a tri cycle would be a better advantage , less chance of falling off anyways :D
