Trawling through the threads on Tech and Resoration a couple of weeks ago and I just happened to
click on Joe's (oldskooldayz) thread titled 'Handlebar help Please'.
Now I don't normally click on a thread like this as I'm no expert on identifying old parts....I leave it to
the guys who've been doing it for years, but being bored clicked on it.
Joe was trying to identyfy some bars that he had aquired off an old Goose...
(see here for thread: http://www.radbmx.co.uk/forum/index.php'topic=126034.0 )
Anyway, to my dismay and utter shock I instantly recognised them as my old bars from my Silverfox back in the day..
It was me who stuck the Haro sticker on the bars and the dint on my crossbar that used to annoy the hell out of me was there!!
Replying and Pm'ing Joe he said I could have the bars back and he would return them 'home'. :daumenhoch:
Anyway a couple of days later they landed at my mums house (which is where these bars once lived) and so returned after 22 years
after last seeing them.
Unfortunately, this means my dreams of the old Silverfox turning up out of the blue on here or gaybay will not materialise.. :(
But at least some of it has returned.....
A big big thankyou to Joe for returning them.......cheers pal.
So here they have arrived:

And opened:
And next to my collection:
My dad bought me the Silverfox about 25 years ago......and he died before xmas just gone.
Having just last week bought an immaculate survivor Silverfox it's been a great couple of weeks for old memories...
My new Fox:

And my old one: (Please excuse the gayness of my one footed endo, my adidas tracky and my farah pants!!)
And next to my original plate: (I had two of those Haro stickers....I stuck one on my bars and one on my plate)

Thanks for reading and again, a big thanks to Joe. :daumenhoch:

Looks like a building in Stockport to me...
Bru :daumenhoch:
The building you see is in fact on the same road as my mums house.....Beal Lane in Shaw, Oldham.
It is two old cotton Mills sat next to each other, one called the Lilac and one called the Briar.
There were 48 cotton mills during the cotton boom in Shaw....only 6 remain, these two being included.
My dad retired from Oldham Council at age 50 but was soon bored as my mum was out at work all day and so
he got a part time job at that very mill you see in the picture. It is now a JD Williams Mail Order Catalogue Warehouse.
The car park you see me on in the picture has now gone and is the entrance to another Mail Order Company, Littlewoods.
