I have bought a set of White Zs and I need to put new logos on with Stencils. Question is, what is the best paint or spray to use? White Zs with black logos.
The person who is restoring them is thick as shit and doesn't know and wants to remain anonymous in case everybody laughs at him so I'll take the flack on his behalf. ;D
Thanks in advance
Adam
-
what about black tippex?
-
The person who is restoring them back to glory can also spray ADAM IS A C0CK all over them :knuppel2:

i just don't get it AKGOFF?
I'd pay someone to do my garden
My car
the house
the cleaning
but the few bmx restores i've done i wouldn't pay anyone to do.
it's like paying someone to go to see the kids do the nativity.
Can you enlighten me on where you're at?

:LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol: your such a retard Adam, everyone knows the best thing to use is coal :daumenhoch:

I have neither the time nor inclination to do such tedious tasks not to mention patience and in turn skills. I find restoring stuff extremely boring and that equates to me rushing it to get the job done quicker and thus Fookin it right up even further. I find it much more beneficial to give the said item to somebody who does have all of the above, pay them a princely sum and then receive it back exactly as I want it without any headaches or grief to myself.
Is it not exactly the same principle as paying a bike shop to lace a set of wheels for you which many people on here do and is seemingly found acceptable?

fits, never know why i'm so crap but like adam says i'm crap and rush, i get more pleasure paying someone
to do it for me and perfect :daumenhoch:

Bitumen... Works wonders....! Made my hair grow back and I think it helped my balls drop.. ;)

-
You got to give it to Adam :daumenhoch:
he know what looks good and right on a build
he gets in the best parts
he uses people who know what there doing
he puts money in the pocket of members on here
so it's all good in my eyes, as different members on RAD bring different things to the table :coolsmiley:
it's all cool >:D
he just a bell end when drunk ;D
-
plus it gives us all someone to laugh at, and that in my book is tops :daumenhoch: :daumenhoch:

You enjoy doing those things and I don't, simple really.

The most interesting part of the hobby is finding the parts and putting them together to create a nice build. Most people enjoy the restoration/building part of the hobby more than sitting back and looking at a complete build that they've had very little involvement in creating. Once I've built a bike, I lose interest in it and I'm looking for something else to be getting on with.
Nobody is having a go at you but I think the majority of people on here prefer a more hands-on approach and that's what they don't get...
When you were a kid, did you have a massive Airfix model collection but all of the models were built by your dad? Same sort of thing, really. My cousins did, the spoilt barstewards. :LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol:

This threads getting out of hand, Adam needs some serious suggestions how to sort his rims out folks :daumenhoch:
Heres my tip for you buddy :4_17_5:
/>
-
The simple answer is....
Get rid of them and buy a nice set of rims, Z-rim's are crap, end of :yahoo_silent:
Is the 'i don't get it' question, that you don't know why anyone would want a set ???
-
Stenciling can be a real fooker to do.
If you're painting them, paint away from the edges so you don't push the paint under the edge of the stencil. You could try spraying them, but you'll need to take your time and build up a few coats. You don't want the pressure too high either as it could blow under the edge of the stencil. Probably better using an artists airbrush.
Never stenciled anything that small though.
Good luck :daumenhoch:
-
and that just pushed the price up adam ;D
Who here doesn't like Adam ? you all seem to want to have a go at a guy that is liked on here - has some great and rare bikes - shows them well and knows his stuff - he makes us laugh and can have a laugh with us
so the one thing is he doesn't put the bikes together but employees members to help out - is this not the same as a business ?
we all do some thing different on here in a different way - I' haven't had a build finished in a while, so who's to have a go at me ? I post up and try to help out - does that mean i should be outed for not doing some thing as much as the rest on here
get over it guys :daumenhoch: and fecking answer the question (thanks to the two who have so far) >:D
cheers B ;)
-
each to their own I guess but I'm sure Adam is a big enough boy to stand up for himself B. :daumenhoch:
plus you did kind of set the tone for this thread by calling him a C O C K in your opening post :LolLolLolLol:
-
Adam know the banter that flows between us and few other muppets on here :D ;D
it's cool to muck about with adam as he know it just for fun shits and giggles
but it's the saying that cos he doesn't build his own bike he doesn't belong on here ?
going round with him at shows and rides, i glad to call him a good mate - at the VW shows we had a right laugh - he had some great bikes there and even won a price for one of them
he's still a c0ck ;D
-
...but it's the saying that cos he doesn't build his own bike he doesn't belong on here ?...
... true. That would have been out of order... but... and its BIG BUT ...NO ONE has said that B.
Where in anything that has been said has it been declared that Adam isn't welcome ??? Nowhere :daumenhoch:
'Vive la Difference' but hearing people to stand up for their beliefs is always interesting :Great_Britain:
-
true - but why yer kicking off on me ? i'm only doing a job for him and having a piss about with him as we do
-

Waa waaaa Whaaat! who's kicking off! not me B. :daumenhoch:
Just trying to say that Bob or Adam or you or me or whoever is allowed an opinion without it being turned into a stoning ... I didn't get that you were doing the resto .. my bad ... some in jokes get missed by those not in the know.
Everything is peaceful here mate :daumenhoch: I have no beefs - is all love :smitten:
-
Fookin hell :wtf:
I just want to know what fookin paint or spray to use?
I CAN'T BE ARSED WITH ANY RESTO WORK SO OTHERS DO IT FOR ME, I DO NOT HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THIS SO I'M NOT SURE WHY OTHERS DO. I HAVE NO, NOR HAVE I EVER HAD ANY FOOKIN AIRFIX AEROPLANES BUT I LIKE OWNING AND RIDING NICE SHINY BIKES.
SORRY IF THAT OFFENDS ANYONE BUT QUITE FRANKLEY I COULDN'T GIVE A FOOK.
Best option for paint or spray please. :daumenhoch:
Adam
-
Airfix ;)
-
Why didn't you just buy some NOS ones Adam ??? ......... no need for any fooking about then :D :LolLolLolLol:
-
Just buy some decals from Del and be done bro :daumenhoch:
-
Did a bit of research and found this site. http://41thirty.com/restoration
They suggest Krylon plastic spray paint.
Hope that helps Adam. :daumenhoch:

I'm not having a go at anyone, i'm just saying 'i don't get it'

I used some Plastic surface spray paint from B and Q, think it was this http://www.diy.com/nav/decor/paint/specialist-paints/spray_paints/Rust-Oleum-400ml-Direct-To-Plastic-Black-11117620
It also builds up a slight surface as you find on nos rims. Just make sure the stencil is stuck well and truly down.
I did see on the museum once someone who made their own stencil/design which went on the top of the Z rim, looked fantastic. If anyone has the link please post it up. :daumenhoch:

Thanks Steven :daumenhoch:
-
No probs, when done you'll be amazed at the end result, really hard to tell that they've been refurbed.
Just make sure you really stick them down with something strong as the glue the stencils come with is weak
-
got these a while a go, rough looking
(http://i1153.photobucket.com/albums/p507/wlane17/zrims004.jpg)
after some wet and dry, some stencils and plastic spray paint. i've only done the 1 rim for now as i'll be using a rear brake so i may leave that rim alone. this is the first set i've done

i forgot to say that the stencilled rim was the roughest looking out of the two rims before i cleaned them
-
Nice effort on the stencilled logos. :daumenhoch:
You got a pic of the stencils?

Looks good. :daumenhoch:
