My half pipe was finally finished on Saturday by a couple of good friends of mine , the next stage will be a foam pit :daumenhoch:
The ramp is a total length of 48 foot , 16 foot wide , there is also a 4 foot wide platform at the top at each end , i'm pleased with it , gutted i've had to work today so thought it would be best to leave the bike at home other wise i'd have got nothing done , my little lads loved it , i didn't think they did too bad for 4 and 6 year olds :smitten: :4_17_5:

-
That's awsome, i'm not in to freestyle too much but to have that on your property must be hell of a buzz at lunch time. Don't know if i'd be too keen on having it near that spiked fence though.
-

-
Steve you can use this mate

-
Looks awesome Darren!I like the fact it has a good flat bottom, gives you bit of time to set up for next trick. No coping though???will it be going on?? :daumenhoch:
-
What's the thinking behind such a lengthy flat bottom Darren?
-
looks great - looooooooooooong flat, might loose a bit of pace - you can always chop and change bits round - tomb stone >:D
-
no copping ?
-
Personally I wouldn't go anywhere near that ramp, not that it looks badly built etc, just I have absolutely no talent and would kill myself :LolLolLolLol:
-
Got all the info and measurements out of a BMX book , 6' foot transition etc so should be ok , we didn't just build it off the back of a fag packet :LolLolLolLol: its better than what I had before ,,,,,,,, nothing :LolLolLolLol:plus the local hospital is only 3 miles away down the bypass :LolLolLolLol:which im sure we'll be using at some point :LolLolLolLol:
. cheers guys :daumenhoch:
-
Where is it mate? Are you going to install coping?
I'm in Yorkshire , a coping will be fitted but i was away when the guys had finished it , they were working off the drawings in an old BMX book which didn't show one on :daumenhoch:
Cheers Kappy :)
-
Daz that's ace :daumenhoch:
I'll leave my bike in the car when I'm in York next, just in case I can drop by for a drop-in....... >:D
-
Was it the BMX Action Bike book from the 80s  I think you've missed a trick here Darren.
There's a wealth of knowledge right here on RAD you could have dipped into ... talking to fellas like TwoBobRob for example.. being able to have the combined wisdom of years of experience is what I think RAD is best at :daumenhoch:
Whens Phase 2 of Kaplands coming then? :)
-
my god thats very steep very quick :LolLolLolLol:
-
Book me in for the bash . Is there a cost co close to you daz ? We will need optics installing on one of the platforms
-
Just enjoy it Daz :daumenhoch: Not many can say 'just popping out back for a sesh on the pipe' :coolsmiley:
-
Cheers guys :daumenhoch: i remember we had a quarter pipe bitd to this spec up at a mates farm and did ok on that , if anything it'll be a laugh and if it needs to be changed thats not a problem :daumenhoch:

+1 :daumenhoch:
Wish I had this ramp in my back garden (wish I had a back garden! :LolLolLolLol:)
I like the tight transitions; less chance of hanging up! ;)
I had a ramp in my parents garden that was made up of two quarter pipes, one two foot higher than the other, with no platforms and hardboard in the middle! :LolLolLolLol:
-
Lot of critics
Old school ramp for old school bikes.
Its 100 times better than the no ramp I have

-
Nice run up, I think all of rad will fit between the ramps, I like it and I'm a racer lol
-
build it, and they will come
but only if they get an invite.
good to know there are so many knowledgable ramp builders out there.
'
even better to know someone who hasnt done one before picked up an old school bmx book, on the back of getting back into old school bmx, and and thought 'foook it, why not'
then walked outside and did it.
cant wait to break my neck on it :D

Well put.. Yeah, I dont understand that slightly negative comments - no matter how you look at it, it's frickin ace and everyone of us would love it in our back yards..
Paul
-
I agree, old school ramp for old school bikes. I think it's great personally - nice one .. 8)
-
Oh well, it looks like right fun even if the flat bottom does look a bit long.
All joking aside though at least if it rains for 40 days and 40 nights you'll have something for the animals to go in 2 by 2 on.
-
If you see Morgan Freeman ... run for it!
Darren Almighty ;)
-
:daumenhoch:
Dead jealous Darren , that looks cool as fook .....

-
would mind a go on that, top job. :daumenhoch:
See its been tagged already :LolLolLolLol:
-
Looks ace! :D
I like a flat bottom, hate new fangled parks / ramps with stuff jammed in and not enough space to set speed and 'focus', ::)
If you want some proper graff / stencils I'd be v.happy to do some F.O.C. ;)
-
That would be so cool to have you do some proper graff , are you responsible for all the graff on the empty shops :LolLolLolLol:
i'll be sorting out date for a sesh for the lads i'll pm with a date once sorted ;) i'll see you at Blackpool if you can make it ;)
. Cheers Kappy :daumenhoch:
-

yep you sure can , as long as you bring some old school BMX goodies for me to buy ;)
-
Beltin' stuff Darren :daumenhoch: Very jealous ;)
-
Are people really putting a downer on this? Let's be honest, who wouldn't want a half pipe in their back garden, or wherever it is, who cares how flat the bottom bit is? Nice work, I wouldn't mind one in my back garden :4_17_5: :daumenhoch:
-
I'm not on a downer i just don't get it :LolLolLolLol:
