it was a very messy thread, i could hardly understand half of it, but his heart was in the right place....
his step by step threads were just too much, a simple before and after is enough....

The forum is almost moribund at the moment and it was actually interesting to read what this guy got up to IMO. Yeah I know there are great restorers (blah blah blah) on here or people who like to throw their cheque-book at their builds but I'm sure there was still room on the forum for something as leftfield as that thread.
I don't really get why the people that didn't like the thread couldn't stay off it and did nowt but take the pi$$ until they got it taken down. :(

After he kicked off about people questioning his motives and whether he was really contributing to charity. As I read it, he was told that the thread wouldn't be cleaned up but a mod would kindly delete it if he'd prefer. ???

Interesting point.
Perhaps if it was just one forum wherever one had equal access, it might be a bit livelier.
Same people still think its good having a separate invite only section that the general members don't see.

Perhaps he did, and came up against the same response as he did on here? ???
For what it is worth I think the RAD community gave him a collective rough ride (no pun intended), especially considering all the great members RAD has, and they great things they all do for each other.
My personal approach to people, and the things they do, is "always assume positive intent"; I don't believe we did on this occasion. :-\

It has nothing to do with how people reacted to him, i think he did himself no favours at all in that respect. we must've got about 50 emails from him reporting every single reply that someone posted in his thread that he didn't like or agree with ::)

Perhaps he received what he considered unfair reactions / responses to his posts and decided to move on. ???
Regarding what was happening behind the scenes, I had no idea about that, and it is clearly not helpful. :-[

I had the normal MK dates locked in the diary, but then the weekend moved and I was already committed (for almost eighteen months, now) to a week diving in the Shetland Isles. :knuppel2:
Gutted I am missing MK, but at least it's for good reason. :daumenhoch:

To be honest I had no problem with him at all, he was a bit ott but hell who isn't in this hobby.
I only started having a problem, when he started about 20 separate threads one night in the tech and restoration section, I asked him very nicely and politely to remove some of them and maybe just have one big thread and he responded to my message with extreme arrogance and aggression.
After that I figured he had some sort of mental problems. :D

dosent surprise me tbh, had a run in with him on bmxforum
i advised 2 newbies who had old school questions to come on rad as the questions they were asking were never gonna get answered on a new school forum
snapper went into one having a go at me for it and even pm'ing me and basically just being rude
doing resto work for charity and having muscular dystrophy are no excuse for a bad attitude towards other people
