-
Of course mate! Everyone is of different abilities and everyone helps each other, so i'm sure you'll get rolling about no problem, added you as a possible on the list....
-
Really really wanna come to this as the park looks sick! But not sure the 3 1/2 hour drive home at 1am is a good idea :buck2:
-
Where do you live? Not many places are over 3 and a half hours from notts at 1am. South coast? (Of Africa?)
-
Looks a cracking place but its a good 2.5 hours away for me as well :(
-
Think Mdbh is local to Southsea skatepark :daumenhoch:
-
Yep, southsea is perhaps a bit far. The first time i drove there took 9 hours. Would have been quicker to wish my way there. :-[
-
It takes me anywhere from 1 3/4hrs too 2 1/2 hours to get to the Boardroom. Must admit was starting to struggle last time got home at 2.45am. :buck2:

I've been to Blackpool several timez ;)

Gonna come along and have a go. It'll be good to meet the regular lads and see the new park.
Be gentle with me as I'm a skatepark virgin :-[
Cheers Jol
Rob
-
Can't do 3 weekends in a row :(
Will be up the week after to see the new look boardroom though
Looking forward to a report on this place, from what I've seen looks the bollux

Rob
Me & you both Rob... I might show too then if I'm not gonna be the only newb kissing pine! Where re you in the world rob?
-
I'm down in Hertfordshire mt Hoops. I'm planning on going to the Worcester ride during the day then up to Nottinghan in the evening. While I'm having a BMX day and have a pass from the wife I may as well do it properly ;)
-
both you so called new guys need to put aside the concerns and just come and ride ... help and advice is always on hand :daumenhoch:
Riding is what is important... 8)
Be there.
-
What sort of numbers are you looking for, I really should be getting an early night as I'm racing the next day.....or should that be later that morning!
Got a few of my local boys that are interested on coming if there's room.
-
video of the place seems to be sparce at the mo but found this, reasonable views of the park.

:daumenhoch: Greg that transitioned wall looks fun...... big carve :daumenhoch:
-
both you so called new guys need to put aside the concerns and just come and ride ... help and advice is always on hand
Hoops and Rob, get yourselves down there and plenty of us will show you the basics and get you rolling. As long as you turn up ready to listen and don't expect to drop in and air on your first time out then we can all help you out with sensible advice.
I managed to get DannyRobbo2012 to drop in on his third ever trip to a sketepark and Bigfraug is next (if he ever shows up with his balls present!) so you are welcome to plenty of time and advice to help you enjoy these nights.
Just remember there are actually still a good few of us who love riding our bikes, no matter how crap we are as it's what they were made for in the first place, not to be hung up on the wall...... ;-)
-
Looks a cracking park. I wonder what the tea is like tho..??
-
Nice one, thanks Spen :daumenhoch:
I'm just struggling to find something to ride that has brakes and I don't mind scratching !
I've no freestyle bikes to ride, but I'll prob bring my survivor ET ( just to see if it really can fly ::) )
If I can see myself getting into this I'll need to build something a bit more suitable.
See you there
-
Rob, just make sure you have ramp-ish tyres mate. Compe3's would not be an advisable weapon of choice unless you are going to take it very easy bud.
Lessons are free. Scars are for life but chicks dig scars don't forget........
Looks a cracking park. I wonder what the tea is like tho..??
Good question Ben. Essential to replace the amount of sweat you produce lad.....
-
Rob and MR hoops any bike will do, turning up is the main thing that's worth more soul points with us lot than what bike your riding , good pointer from Spen "the knowledge" ;D on the tires something meant for freestyle, will make things easier for you, cheap ones will do for the first couple of rides :daumenhoch: . Pads and a helmet are more important :daumenhoch:
all our bikes are set up slightly differently so you can have a roll round on few and see what suits you , and go from there , no point shelling out for a bike if you feel you don't want to ride the wooden waves , no stigma attached to that decision either we have members turn up who don't ride , tis all cool and heckling is always good :daumenhoch:
-
Gents, had a look around Flo today! It is huge,
absolutely awesome!!!
Met the owner finally! He wanted £300 for the hire but I got it down to £250!
So, it should work out a tenner (ish) each!
Hope that is all cool with you.
Hire is from 10pm until 1am,
But I would recommend turning up earlier, paying at reception, getting your wristband and having a look round, its got a huge viewing gallery and cafe!
There's also a KFC a short walk away!
Here's some new pics on Facebook.....

-
Good stuff. Should be great. Did you spot a tea urn anywhere?
-
What's all this tea talk, Where's the nearest Starbucks?
-
The layout looks good.....plenty of standing around space ;)
-
would love to come but its a good 2.9 miles from my place :LolLolLolLol:
Dingo
-
Some of the Nottm Oldies went there on Tues Night.
Said the place was 'absolutely awesome'.
But It was covered in Fleas (skooters).
But we don't have to worry about that on our night Brothers . Can't fckn wait.... All to ourselves!!
Keep the Fleas. L
-
Well Bulwells Club race has been moved to the 9th so count me in :daumenhoch:
(if there are any spaces left?)
Dingo
-
Nice one Brother
You were starting to become Nottm's mystery man.
Always room for the Nottm Crew.
Keep the faith. L
-
Cheers Len,
Its all about the dirt for me normally, maybe this will broaden my riding horizons a bit? Last time I was at a park was Creation Christmas do years ago
Dingo
-
This looks the mutts nuts, can't wait! Good work Jol :daumenhoch:
-
We can have a race around the place. :)
Looks like about 20 so far, I'll probably be +3 or +5 if we're short of numbers, but don't worry no flip whipper park rats, just the lads that came to Boardroom ages ago, just let me know its ok/needed to make up the numbers.
-
McNulty/Skyway street-beat wants to know if can he come but skate not ride?
Dingo
-
I don't want to speak out of turn but an extra few in a park this size will be no problem.
Besides, we need 25 of us to make this a tenner a head don't we so keep them coming lads.
Not sure about skaters mind..... I've no issue but the idea of the private hires is to keep a bit of control
-
Yep Jacko
check with Jol but I reckon Joe and your lot are welcome.
They're nearly old skool now anyway (only 1 year off Haha).
Check with Jol but I reckon the Skater will be cool (we probs know him anyway).
Keep the FLO. L
-
Andy is one of the first old schoolers and very early member on here and vintage but prefers to ride dirt and skate bowls
Dingo
-
put me down on the list
-
A little video showing some of the park.
Not a valid vimeo URL
If you think it looks big on the video, it is.....and I don't think you even see the 'street' area or the bowl. :)
-
Jol, Nicho interest in this event was generated last night my friend. Gentleman John who rides with Ben and George is up for it amd so is young monkeybumps Steve who rides with us at On-Board. He said he can bring between 3 to 12 yoof (mid 20's) riders along and was confident of being able to get himself plus 5 for a start but didn't want to invade the night with anklebiters.....
What's the deal Jol - how many do we want there in total? Steve is sound and rides with an old school flava - no flip-whipping just big smooth calves and big air so I took the liberty of inviting him and at least a few mates but he can bring more if we need to get the numbers up.
Let me know and i'll give him a buzz......
-
...theres enough going I reckon :daumenhoch:
-
That place looks ace, look forward to a sesh next year
-
Due to the great British Weather cutting our weekend Jam at my local skatepark short and also the generosity of the nice people at Diamond Back I've got a spare T-Shirt as a prize for 'something'.
Jol can pick something/someone, biggest slam, best trick, race/time trial lap......whatever. :)
-
Jol, please add gentlemanly John, he's a deffo. Thanks. :daumenhoch:
-
Just posted an update at the start of thread.....
-
Jol, please add gentlemanly John, he's a deffo. Thanks. :daumenhoch:
He's already mentioned as an attendee Ben, especially if I need a lift!
Jol, I told Steve him plus 5 Max and he will get back on the names. Just need to be sure we cover the cost of the hire as we're currently only at 24 so that will take the list to 30 to cover the last-minute drop-outs......
I am worried I am getting old as I ache like fook this morning and suprisingly for me, only came off once on saturday which made a change...... What will I be like after four weekends on the trot eh?
-
Jeez me too. Im paying the price for insufficient stretching before riding. Bad back.
-
Well buzzin for this Jol!!!!
Park looks awesome!!!!!
Gonna be proper on it :)
-
Jol, please add gentlemanly John, he's a deffo. Thanks. :daumenhoch:

Jesus... Imagine if you actually rode a bit! :4_17_5:
-
Jol can you add Steve (monkeybumps) Artus, Andrew Bilsborrow and Dean Dobson to the list please mate. Steve's just bringing one car load sonthey don't make us look too old......
Can't fookin wait for this - Dordy's coming too so we can convince home to ride again with a bit of luck or he'll be on camera duty.....
-
Dordy please fetch a challenger with you so i can have a go :-\
-
Added!
-
I don't think Lou is gonna make it Jol ... seems to have given up ::) kids! :uglystupid2:
-
Just come back from ridin FLO with Jol 'Party Man' Crowster.
It's massive and a bit crazy but Fckn Rad.

-
Yup, Saturday should be a cracker. We just have to sort out who's driving.
-
You bunch of fags.
Babysiter has just arrived. So i'm off to see how much vodka I can drink in 4hrs.....
-
FRYING TONIGHT!
-
Tiny hangover, I'd call that a win.
I'm off to the bike shop, who allegedly have a stash of late nineties gear in a back room going cheap
Let's see...
-
Vodka sales are back on track in Sheffield. Really chuffed that my 2yr old slept till 9am. Pity his 4yr old sister didn't and woke up at 6am as normal.....
Hangin out my ass right now but should be fine later....... BRING IT THE FOOK ON!!!
-
Haha lightweights
Everyone from Nottm started out with some Pharmy-smack to get the night going.
Then onto some Crack to pick it up a bit.
Next was some Crystal-Meth, to get us fired up for the ensuing Gunfight with the Rozzers.
Then off for a fight in the Kebab shop before burning our mouths out with the Hottest Chilli they've got.
Then and only then is it back for a well early night. Haha
NOT REALLY... I stayed in too, can't fckn wait.
Faith. L
-
It's 6:15 and I'm sat with the bike in the living room, helmets on the coffee table and my lift doesn't arrive till 9.....bring it on. :)
-
:LolLolLolLol:
I'm the same, been clock watching since 1pm this afternoon
-
woosh.
-
Fecking mint night!!!
good riding out of my comfort zone and great to meet new friends and old ones alike
many many thanks to those that sorted it and see you all really soon
Dingo
p.s carving that bowl was the bomb!!!!
-
As Dingo said, another mint night was had by the actual riders on Rad and a load of their mates -awesome!
The bowl was lush, the jump-box ridiculous and the lines a bit confusing to us oldies but we got the hang of it eventually. Hopefully Ged will post up some pics of the mental moves from the jump-box crewe at the end of the night but as always we were riding not taking pictures.
Highlights for me:
Jol's face when he realised he'd pulled it off and 30 riders arrived
Boardroom Dave riding a BMX with us - he's a fookin star that bloke!
New kid Rich riding the big quarter with a massive grin on his face the whole night (even when he came off!)
Richie 359 clearing the hip corner transfer
Ben and George's wall-ride competition
Ged getting over that massive spine
Jim not quite getting over the massive spine!
Ed tyre Tapping that shelf against the wall - that was a tight space to land on
Ed trying to get me to do it and all I could do was disaster it!
Finally getting a tiny bit of air over that massive jump-box (and I mean tiny!)
Low points:
Wini faceplanting the steps when he forgtot the "wheelie" part of the "wheelie hop" up the steps
Nearly flattening Richie 359 when I jumped out the bowl and went straight down the quarter the other side
Having no tequnique over the hip thingy and dropping like a stone the other side - ouch
The diagonal lines some of the yoof were taking in the floor area by the spine
Not getting out that oddly positioned quarter by the door - I tried but could get the speed.....
Trick of the night:
Gotta be Monkeybumps Steve pulling a back-flip over the jump-box....... Holy crapski, that was mental
(http://www.radbmx.co.uk/archive/albums/l13/Gedspeed/notts%20bmx%20oldschool/DPP_0012.jpg)
A very close second - Jason? (on the pale blue bike) doing a massive 360 over the box
(http://www.radbmx.co.uk/archive/albums/l13/Gedspeed/notts%20bmx%20oldschool/DPP_0011.jpg)
Top night - bring on the Boardroom next weekend as i'm aching like fook but don't care!
-
:daumenhoch: hi Newbie here
I'll agree with what's been said above, a massive thanks to Jol for the invite and organizing the night. Thought I outta sign up here.
Some sweet moves being stomped all night and always nice to see people's progression on the night, looked like quite a few nailed something new.
Had great fun on the jump box, but god I'm aching today :LolLolLolLol:
Nice to meet a load of you and see some old faces I've not seen for a while
Ben ( dark blue fit trail w/ grey woolly hat)
Can't wait for the next one :daumenhoch:
-
Really good night and an awesome park. Massive thanks to Jol for sorting it out - a great turnout considering it was about minus 5 and started at 10pm on a Saturday night!
Been a long time since I've been over the bars ;D It was like meeting an old friend, esp that split second when you leave the relative safety of your pedals and realise the floor is fast approaching and a bit of pain not far behind :D
Some great riding, everyone havin it! :daumenhoch:

got to be the best thing i've seen or done in ages , that's everything ,the whole night, had to stop and just look round a few times and take it all in. big thanks to Jason and Ged for the pointers and encouragement on the spine, next time i'm havin' it , :daumenhoch: .
Jol nice one :coolsmiley: :coolsmiley:
-
As everyone else has said, what a top night :daumenhoch:
I'd not ridden a park before and that must have been a pretty good one to have a go on first time around.
Many thanks to Jol for organizing everything and letting me come along, and Thanks again to Spen for all the help and advice to get me started. I couldn't have wiped out so well without your help :-[ It didn't hurt last night but it bloody well does today :(
Hope to come along to another one soon.
-
Nice one Jol, great turn out, great park.
Bit out of my comfort zone, and fooking cold, quality riding from nearly everyone but me!!
Need to get the cafe open on the next one, they clearly didn't realise who they were hosting, could have doubled the nights take!! ( and thats just NP Ben's tea!!)
BR Saturday next!!! (PORK night!!)
MM
-
I spent the night saying sorry to Jol for getting in his way.
Sorry Jol.
NPBen was a big BMX Pirate ... he needs the boots to match next time.
-
:D Brilliant park, the notts lot are lucky chaps. What a great way to ride it, a private hire with the rad lot.
Thanks to Jol for doing the arranging. Thanks to everyone that rode for making a great atmosphere and giving us all plenty to shout "yeah!!"about.
Well done to steve and jason for showing us the way over the jump box, george said "its not that big" but i think it was just a long way away. It was big enough for me. The bowl was ace, so was gentlemanly john's face when he did the bowk-wallride.
Ed, i thought you called me a Parrott ;D Posh bloody accent mate!

As all the above Brothers said.
Fckn rad... period.
Got to add a shout to 'Quietman' Bill quietly rippin' (360 flyouts and more with no noise) up the bowl on his super quiet Kuwa.
Leon and his mate for riding 6 miles to the park and 6 miles back again to Beeston, oh and for Leon's 540 in the shallow end of the bowl.
And the Dude that did the Brum ride in the day and drove up to FLO at night, proper rode trip Brother.
Great to see everyone again.
KTF Brothers. L
