Title: Chest-Air 2014 12th April
Post by: brettypeeps on January 05, 2014, 10:51 PM
This year we are going back to Chester on the 12th April

Chester Railway Station at 12:00
Some of the regular bars including the Bar of Hanging Bicycles.
As always we will be losing the bikes about 8pm and then on for more beer. Plenty of people will be staying in hotels and partying the night away.

Get your names down and come and enjoy the walled city on a kids bike

If its anything like last years ended up, then probably not, we were too smashed to care. :LolLolLolLol:

This year though, our hotel is really close to the posher end of town, so more likely we'll end up in a more select juicer Sam.  :daumenhoch:

I've done a little map again, not as good as last years as I was doing it at work, sorry about the resolution.

1 - Station bar/meet and greet point
2 - zip down the canal to The Lock Keeper
3 - through town, across the park to The Boathouse

Stop then for group photo by the river.

4 - Follow the river then up and across town to The Architect
5 - Ye Olde Custom House (bar of hanging bicycles)
6 - The Coach House
7 - Slug & Lettuce

Bikes usually get dumped back at the Hotel at this point.  :daumenhoch:

Dan,

I am up for a roll, but it is a long way to come for a couple of hours. If you and Brett are up for a proper session I will happily book myself a room and stay over. We might be able to twist Carlito's arm into it, too.....

Think of it as a mini Chest-Air type thingy.

What do you reckon?

Dirty.

My plan was to be in Chester from 11:00 until about 4PM as I have to go out in the evening and there is a table booked.  But I am sure that Dan will not pass up on the opportunity for a late one. :daumenhoch:

Nice one Brett, for the  :bump:

I was going to post something over the next few days:

Who is staying over, and where? The reason I ask is so that we can organise a central meeting point for the night time activities. Also, what sort of ambience would you prefer in the evening? Chester has all sorts of bars ranging from shitty boozers to flash bars, with others in between obviously.

Post up any preferences/requirements.  :daumenhoch:

Bretty, I've been looking at the numbers for this, and it may be a better option to use the beer garden at the back of The Town Crier as a meeting point for this?

It's entirely up to you as it's your gig, but it may get a bit congested outside the station.  ???

***IMPORTANT INFORMATION***

I've had confirmation off 'er indoors that a load of handbrakes from her work are going to Chester the same day as us for drinks, meeting in The Slug & Lettuce @ 4pm.

This potentially could either be a gashorama, but could quite easily be like a Bella Emberg lookalike comp.  :daumenhoch:

Top boys,
Great bikes,
Good weather,
A good swig,
Plenty of clunge,
And absolute carnage at night.

Smart jeans, no trainers, shrt or a jumper.

I'll aim for the posher places, but with those places, the Doormen are up their own arses, so may be tricky to get in with our numbers.

I'll make sure we have a good one though.

Yep it ws a fine day, and nite. Good laff too. Joff that name tickles me ... :LolLolLolLol:

I have a vague recollection of events, as follows:

Shots with Jono,
Running out if money,
Going to the cash point,
More shots,
Getting back to the Hotel,
Receiving a phone call off NigeB to say Tony had been twatted,
Running back in to town to find Tony,
Falling over on my face close to where id fallen off my bike in the day,
Finding Tony, who was fine,
Next thing I remember was being in the kebab house and Nick saying him and Stu were going the curry house next door.

I don't remember eating the kebab, or the walk back to the hotel, and god knows how i found our room.

All in all, a cracking day/night. :4_17_5:

Please allow me the opportunity to thank a few people for making Chest -Air 2014 well 70 of you actually.  I had an amazing day and night but it went far to fast.
There are a few People that need to be named that assisted with this years ride that need some Praise.
Carl Barnett did the awesome Decals after John 'Griff' Griffin who took my concept to a new Level.
Dan Retrodan Jackson who has been involved with me on this ride for several years and came with me to check the pubs we would accept us for the carnage in 2014 and the route planning.
Neil Park that arranged the free food for us in The Coach House.  Awesome Day with Awesome People.
See you in 2015 :)

I remember going to the curry house with nick and having a seriously hot curry, my lips were burning for two days!  :LolLolLolLol:

We both went outside so I could get a cab as there was one parked up, but he was already booked, the guys at the Indian told me they would order one so nick went off to his hotel and I went back into the Indian, I was just about to sit down and this bird asked me to join her as she was on her own, to be honest she was really chatty, but I think I was too pissed to notice, I think she was alright looking as well, but it was through my beer goggles, anyway my taxi came and the Indians called me, as i got up Carl walked in, I said alright Carl I'm off to my hotel in a taxi outside, he told me he was after something to eat so I told him to go and sit with the bird on her own. So what happened after that Carl?   :LolLolLolLol:
