you need a helmet (full face is highly recommended) long sleeve top and gloves.

Bike wise?

there'll be two categories...

1. Old School 20" (all bikes must have 1" headset and caliper brake) No 990s
2. Anything else

I think someone should speak to Dev @ mk Bmx to see about doing a novice race , as it used to be a couple of years back? I think a lot more people would love to have a go , but are daunted by getting on the gate with a load of shit hot old schoolers ?
It's also more laid back and a good crack? Also fits in with the Weekend a bit more ;)

let's see if I can ride by then - probably won't be very competitive riding one-handed :teef:

to be fair we're novices as we only ever really do it once a year at MK  ???  if that for most of us  ;D

People shouldn't worry too much about being on a gate full of pros, there are a few riders who are really good but you can have some great races with people further down the line  :daumenhoch:

I'd love a pound for every time i hear someone say "that looks great fun, i wish i'd have entered or brought a bike to ride"

It really is great fun  :daumenhoch:

Rob's right , it is proper good fun!
I raced 4  years ago , which was the first time I'd ridden a Bmx in 24 years.!.... The following year, I brought a new school cruiser , did the summer season and came 3rd in my region ;)
It made me realise, you never lose the buzz , felt like being a kid again :daumenhoch:

It's worth having a go. I tried it 3 years ago and thought I'd just have a roll around but when that gate went the adrenaline kicked in and off I went.

I was bollocksed by the end of 3 motos though :LolLolLolLol:

I was done in after 3 motos, so didn't even 'race' in the final. It was great fun though. To anyone who has ben thinking about it, but hasn't done it yet - give it a go.
