I posted up something very similar to this last year. Mods/admin, please feel free to remove or advise on edits if you feel it's required.
With MK approaching, most regulars know the usual way of arranging ourselves is to form a circle of cars/vans/tents around the helipad area, therefore creating a space where people can walk/cycle around but keeping the middle free. As MK has become so popular, there is no longer enough room at the helipad field for us all, so I suggest that those in the next field try to arrange themselves in orderly rows, rather than parking up in random places. With a bit of thought (and consideration for others), it makes for a much more better layout, and also allows easy vehicle access for health & safety reasons.

Any comments/suggestions welcome

The only issue is that last year the non helipad area was a parking lot (completely full of cars). If everyone parked around the edge and left the middle open there simply wouldnt be enough space for everyone to park / camp / display. It didnt help that the guy from the MX track went bananas every time a car parked on "his land".
It might work however if the non helipad area had 2 rows of cars in the middle? That would make space for a few more cars, but Im still not sure it would be enough space?
Just a thought. :daumenhoch:

Maybe the second field could be arranged In rows inside a perimeter line of cars a bit like a car boot? That way it's easier to get around and see what people have out on display. I thought the second field got slightly overlooked last year and there were some cracking builds in there :daumenhoch:
-
Great suggestions Jon & Clint. I like the edited image too :daumenhoch:
-
Do we know if the MX lot are gonna be there again this year?
-
Let's hope not- miserable gits.
-
Doesn't look like it.

Says they only run 1 track in Cambridge.

Apparently they open on the first and third Sunday each month.

You've got more chance of covering Russia in lino, than this happening. ::)

Agreed, I we just expect everyone to do it of their own accord. However, if some bunting was put up the night before guiding where people are expected to park I don't see why it cant work? It will take showing people what is expected though. It wont just happen by chance.

Anyone that's camped at MK before and Forum members that will read this thread will probably do their best to try and pitch up with consideration from others.
But, there will be a load of sheeple, probably off various FB groups that will rock up, not giving a shite to the site supporters, and just put their camp wherever.
As soon as Sean or Rob open that gate at 7am on Saturday, it will be a free for all.

Last years plea....

That will be Rob's job, I will be sleeping or eating a full english brekkie :LolLolLolLol:

These are all great plans but realistically it's going to be more like this
-
Id like to think that as we're all adults we could all use a bit of common sense about it all ???
Yeah right ;D
-
Good idea ...
But I think Dan hit it on the head :daumenhoch:
And Jaymz can obviously see into the future :LolLolLolLol:
-
It lasted till about 9am in the second field last year then the tits went up "nono"
Ended up jammed in the corner & saw no muggy c**t till Sunday afternoon
-
Will be there earlier this year bud :-[
-
So if I rock up on Sunday, can I park anywhere? Or is it best to get the train ???
-
You will be along the river getting bit to fook Terry. You only coming Sunday?

Either one of the days Clint. I don't think I can get both off mate :-\ I am still waiting to see the postings at work.
I wanted to drive up and just ride around on one of my bikes, but not sure which one to bring ???
-
Bring a couple. Hoping to take at least 3 crammed in the car this year :daumenhoch:

Terry if you make it up mate, make sure you come and say hello as it's long overdue :coolsmiley:
I'll be on the ramps with the rest of the usual suspects on Saturday and probably sat in Animal's MRD tent Sunday nursing the mutha of all hangovers as usual :2funny:
-
Thanks for posting this up Andy...
I totally agree the "other field" was a total shambles last year and as others have already written many top builds and items for sale were totally overlooked.
-
There has to be a level of 'self policing' here i'm afraid. On Sunday we are far too busy doing Show n shine reg and so on that we aren't able to point people in the right direction. In fact that second field is technically the Motocross guys (i think) so we have to be a bit careful with how we spread ourselves.
-
Think about where you camp , park . Be nice to each other and we should all have a lovely weekend
-
Bumping this up for anyone who may have missed it...
-
"bump"
-
Agree with all the comments here, it would be nice if everyone used a bit of common and park/pitch around the outside to begin with at least and hopefully the grass will be a bit shorter this year in the second field too..
Speaking as a second field 'veteran' (we arrived at 07.15 in each of the last couple of years to find the helipad already packed - what were we thinking arriving so late!! :D ) it would be good to see a few more visitors checking out the builds in the second field this year...
-
Good point about visiting the second field.
This year we have go a few marshals helping out over the weekend (old members) who will be helping set up and so on so don't be surprised to see tents in the Helipad when you arrive.
:daumenhoch:

Thanks for the info Rob and the thread bump Dan. I've updated the design slightly, as you can see in my annotated map below. We need to keep the access to the helipad and 2nd field clear at all times for health & safety reasons. Can people PLEASE park up/set up camp in rows - particularly in the 2nd field. Not only for health & safety, but to make the :radbmxsmilie: MK experience as good as it can be for all those attending. By arranging ourselves in an organised fashion, it will encourage people to wander round and check out some of the amazing bike collections people bring to the event. it will also help to increase footfall for those of you trying to sell items. As Rob said, there will be marshals showing you were to park up. This is for your safety and enjoyment. PLEASE listen to the marshals and follow their instructions :daumenhoch:

that's looks like it will work nicely mate, like it!
-
Superb work Andy, I think we need to circulate this on FB so people can follow :daumenhoch:
-
I was joking on FB earlier when I suggested painting lines on the grass, but it would be cool if we could
If people are sensible though we should hopefully be ok
Hopefully we will also see a bit more activity in terms of people getting site tags in the final run up to MK itself ;)

You could get some ground marking spray paint the type the council use on the roads from screwfix etc. 10 tins would probably sort it.

It's a lonely place down there :teef:
We don't need all them snooty fookers sniffing round our stuff :LolLolLolLol:

That's cos the Rad click/Brown noses pitch up on the Friday night :-X
It was more like the cheeky cnuts that aren't SST holders, some not even RAD members following the sheep on various FB groups and ignoring the kind-hearted pleas from the RAD Team and just rocking up when they feel like.
What some people don't realise Paul is that this is organised as a 2 day event, so the insurance policy that Nick puts his name to only covers those 2 days, and not Friday, so if someone was to show up on Friday and have an accident, they're fooked.
I went on a Friday when I was a Mod, as soon as Rob Steele had built the mini quarter pipe, some bloke (who nobody knew and had pitched up) was allowing his kids to climb all over it, and slide down. Imagine if one of those kids had fallen, or had a massive splinter? You just know that the Parent would be gunning for Nick and the Organisors. I doubt that they want that sort of headache, would you?

Not a very nice way to describe the people that have taken a day off work/volunteered their time to help set up a free event/organise main display areas/distribute fire buckets/help clear up rubbish/document the event on video & camera/help organise the camping plots/oversee the events throughout the weekend/serve at the bar etc etc etc
Without these lovely people this event simply would not happen. This year in particular has taken a staggering amount of work behind the scenes - as MK has grown so have things like H&S compliance and having to work alongside the authorities.
It's not as if we're all there a day early lounging about & snorting coke off the arses of hookers*
* that does help to make it a bit more fun though
-
So are you coming down Friday then Gish?
-
7am :daumenhoch:
-
Paul, you would be one of the last people on here that I would expect to wave the 'Rad is a clique' flag.
Are you referring to the site supporters as 'click/brown nosers'? As far as I can see that's the only difference between yourself and other people on here. :daumenhoch:

Maybe a little strong but this might get the message across...

I think it's quite reasonable tbh
Reminds me of this one I had done for an old MK :teef:
