Totally happy with the odd mark here and there, if I'd have kept my old bike there's no way it would look this good 32 years later!
Thanks to everyone who gave me tips and advice, couldn't have done it without you :daumenhoch:

Thanks mate ;)
I just thought any novices like me looking to do a build will have a ballpark idea of what it's gonna cost, eg: a lot!!

Just shows what a build can cost, and some of the parts are modern repops!
You do need to flip your front brake pads round though as they are directional :daumenhoch:
-
I had to sell a lot on eBay to pay for it!!
Thanks for the tip on brake pads, will do ;)

Can someone tell me why this has been moved from Freestyle to Race?
I know it's a Senior Pro which was a race bike, but clearly this is a freestyle build!?
Thanks :daumenhoch:

Think you've answered the question right there mate. :daumenhoch:

Great to be able to re-create your old school ride :daumenhoch: but think the freestyle platform just looks so outa place? (just my opinion ;)) did yopu have original VDC bars bitd? tbh I never saw a pair til I found this forum? bitd everybody I new had CW bars that's all I ever saw?

i just thought as it's a freestyle build it should go in the freestyle section. Anyone wanting to gen up on freestyle bikes and how they looked ISN'T going to look in the race section! Sorry!

I know what you mean about the platform but as this is an identical rebuild I had to include it!
Yes I had Monkey Bars BITD, I still can't believe that Voris made me a new set!!
CW's are lovely too and will probably be on my next build ::)
Thanks for the feedback :daumenhoch:
-
Nice mate
proper 83 street cred :daumenhoch:
-
Thanks mate, that means a lot cos this is what a lot of BMX's were like BITD, just wish I could find some photos or video of the original...

Great first build there. Really pleased you got it done, and it's great to recreate your old bike. Some of the parts aren't to my taste, but that isn't the point at all. It's what you like that counts, and it's authentic to your original. Top marks :daumenhoch:
Back in the day, I painted my Falcon Pro gold and put Skyway T/A decals on it! Clearly wrong, but that's the kind of thing we did!

Thanks again!
You gave me a lot of advice and tips so I'm very grateful for your help and I'm double glad that you like it, or most of it!!
Lol I bet the Falcon still looked good though!!
Here's to the good ol' days :daumenhoch:

Hey taipan, I've been thinking and you're right, the freestyle platform does look sort of out of place so I've decided to remove it!
Many vthanks :daumenhoch:

Thanks BMX1973!
FYI I've decided to:
Remove the Skyway Freestyle Platform
Change the Odyssey bottom bracket (total crap!) to a Tange bottom bracket
Change the Uni seat and post: the 13/16 size still slips even with a shim fitted, so these will be replaced with an original 1982 Diamond Back fluted seat post and SR clamp, and brand new white Kashimax Aero-C.
Will post new photos when the changes are made...
Thanks again for all the positive comments guys, makes it all worth while :daumenhoch:
