RIP
Shocked! Just reading about him the other day, on the surface it looked like he had it all, two beautiful kids, a nice home, he was into triathlons, had been into rallycross, looked like he had a great life, obviously he had issues to do what he's done, I feel very sorry for him but even more so the people he's left behind.
-
That is a shocker. Wogan and Bowie are kinda old school but this really brings it home. Life is oh, so fragile. On the outside it would appear he had it all. Sad times RIP :'(
-
:wtf: Can't fookin believe this! He had a life most of us could only ever dream of! Watched him come up through the ranks from a fearless kid to Xgames rockstar but always kept his head & had time for the kids coming up.His own bike company, video games, fook off ramps in his back garden,Movie star pad, lovely wife & two kids,Mtv Presenter, rally driver,tri-athlete,Etc,etc....
Suicide???! Mirra was the living embodiment of Positive thinking!!
Where were his friends???! Family?
This just don't seem right & so fooking sad! 41 ain't no age either. There must be more to this than meets the eye.
RIP Miracle Boy

Great rider and innovator. Not just innovating riding but how he marketed himself. His video game gave riders new ideas and attracted new riders to the sport. And beyond that, he did far more than most anyone. Rally driving for Subaru and hosting TV shows. Legend.

Arggghhhhh man.
What is it with us guys not being able to talk about their inner turmoil?
It's OK to be depressed, have doubts, dark thoughts, feel like there's no way out, but there's always a way out if you share the burden and talk about it and work to change your perspective. 'The world is as you see it.' And if you're seeing it all wrong then with time and good support the way you see it can be changed. No shame in feeling shit, and the shittest thing of all is to leave all those loved ones behind, lives wrecked forever.
Mirra was not only a legendary rider, he had a wife and two girls. So sad.
Just talk about it guys, seriously! You'll still be men! And what's more you'll be alive men, bringing all the qualities you might not currently be aware of to this world.

My heart goes out to him and his family. Judging by his last instagram posts he must've been suffering so badly and the depression got the better of him.

I followed Dave from when he was doing gnarly antics in his front yard, to the X games. His riding talent was immense and a joy to watch.
Not only will he be missed by family and friends in the US, but also by the Bmx family he has Worldwide. I feel devastated for his girls, and when I heard the news this morning, gave my two an extra big hug.
R.I.P Dave, you are very sadly missed already :'(

Was looking through a sale rail today and spotted a cool-looking top. Took a closer look and saw Dave Mirra written across the back. Did a quick look online and found out that he did some rallycross after his BMXing, which I had no idea about! This was one of the tops from the Puma Rallycross Team that he was a member of along with Bucky Lasek! Brilliant!!!
