haro bashguard sport
bought the frame forks and bars of threaders and planned to strip and repaint it but decided to build it first to see how it looked, i had most of the parts, only needed a pitbull brake which i got from rooski, a couple of sets of odyssey pegs and a drill bit to make the seatclamp.
haro bashy sport f&f
kneesaver bars
unstamped dk stem (possibly a homeless)
schwinn xs powerdrive cranks
primo super tenderizer pedals
homemade peregrine decal for the cd chainwheel
fishbone seatclamp shaped and drilled like a fusion clamp with homemade decal
pitbull rear brake
8mm acs reaction boa front brake
tech 77 levers
fusion seatpost
odyssey seat
illegal tyres
drilled out a set of rims and sealed hubs to make some 95 spoked wheels, each wheel took about 5 hours work.

Good job you never or you would have been hounded for 'cheating' (but then again, no comment was made when it was done in Jan and Feb :yahoo_silent: )
-
I don't think its frowned upon unless you vote for your own 17 times. ;D

-
I don't think its frowned upon unless you vote for your own 17 times. ;D
Who says they haven't !!!
Anyway, the alleged '17 votes' were in respect of my voting and I have never voted for 'my own bike'. This figure is actually going back as far as 'the big crash in 2013' up until BOTY 2015 (over 2 1/2 years and was not even 17) - I expect there are plenty of people on here who have cast as many votes in just 4 or 5 months !
-
Wish you had voted for me this time and I'd have been an outright winner!! :4_17_5: :D ::) :LolLolLolLol:
Have only been using one vote (but who says it wasn't for yours) :-X

If only I knew I could have done that....
-
well done guys. top builds as always :4_17_5:
Only voted for 2 this month, should've used my third and there'd have been a threesome ;)
At risk of starting a sh1t storm, can we cut the 17 votes bollox now? We're all getting older, it's not the 80's or the school playground, lets just put it behind us and move on. It feels like the museum nowadays when this crap comes up. Just came off the museum because there's some guy on there "flucking this and flucking that" moaning about a certain race/country - for crying out loud :idiot2:. I've been on this site (admittedly in the background) since god knows when, think it had a blue & white colour scheme when i first came on here (?). IMHO it used to be about the love of the bikes, sharing knowledge, helping like minded radsters out, buying/selling a few parts at sensible prices, and drooling over each others builds. Nowadays it seems like you've got to be in some 'in crowd' or b1tch and whine to post, with a focus of getting a post count up to look cool.
Remember guys, it's a bmx forum, always been the coolest, but in serious danger of ... well, who knows. it's meant to be fun. people do what they do, get called out if in the wrong, and live with it. lets move on, pretty please. why can't we get back to killing sea gulls, posting funny sh1t that makes you chuckle when you read it, and just appreciating other enthusiasts hard work, attention to detail, and dedication to a common hobby.
Don't know about others, but it's why i can't be bothered too much any longer. Mind you, sounds like face space is even worse, thank thick i don't bother with all that.
Sorry if this offends, b1tch & moan at me & slate me if you like, i won't retort, or care, life's too short (see, now that's funny - fooking auto correct ;)).
Enjoy your weekend guys, try not to stress too much :)
Now, whilst I've got your attention, if anyones got a mint SG2 I've got cash waiting - ;D Well Wanted Section won't be worth a try - oops!
-
Couldn't agree more. :daumenhoch:
-
I know it must seem that there is an "in crowd" to newbies or older rad members who return every now and then.
I felt the same way when I joined many years ago.
The banter which may seem as off putting to some members has come from many like minded people who've now met up many times over several years, over many rides and MKs and have been lucky enough to become some great friends.
I hate the idea of Rad being 'us' and 'them'... It's a great place for our hobby .. Not as transient or as showy offy as FB can be.
I for one want Rad to flourish and grow and continue for many years to come.
Wining BOTM means a lot to me. I find it really humbling.
I wouldn't want to win just because my mates voted for me. That would be empty and meaningless.
It's the thought that passionate, knowledgable enthusiasts have enjoyed my bike and build enough to vote for it that does it for me.
The comments I get from mates and strangers alike mean a lot to me.
That doesn't mean I'm here for validation .. It's an added bonus and a previlidge.
-
Fair play FP, and couldn't agree more:
I for one want Rad to flourish and grow and continue for many years to come.
Even if I got fed up with some of the poorer aspects and left it all alone I'd still leave my SS fee dd running to support it. And yes, MK's great, & I've been fortunate enough to make contact with some great guys on here over the years :daumenhoch:
-

Statements like this will do you no favours then Ant. ???
Thanks our Tone ... I think your vote just budged me over the line
Thought it was a little inappropriate when you first posted it tbh mate. Perhaps a little more thought should be applied when discussing voting what at the minute (judging by the last few posts at least) is still quite a raw subject. :-\
Which in my opinion is water under the bridge btw and definitely time to move on. :daumenhoch:
-
Fair point Nick ... And out of context it doesn't look right or good .. A naive comment for sure on my part and apologies all round to all involved in this months competition.
I have many friends on here , I'd like to think I include you in that list Nick.
I've voted for several of your builds in BOTM over the years ... Not because you were a mate but because I really liked your bikes and thought they deserved to win.

Just looking at it from an outsiders point if view mate that's all. I know and am friends with both you and Tony and know there's nothing untoward going on but others might not... or is cos I'm pissed. :teef: :LolLolLolLol:

Totally agree Nick :daumenhoch:
A little pissed myself :LolLolLolLol: ;)

Couldn't agree more. :daumenhoch:
+1! Let's keep this place RAD! :Great_Britain:

Wining BOTM means a lot to me. I find it really humbling.
I wouldn't want to win just because my mates voted for me. That would be empty and meaningless.
Could this be a new can of worms being opened
-
Er no... Nick was purely being protective of the site and of BOTM and rightly so.
I can hand on heart say 100% in all honesty that I never asked anyone to vote for me in this months competition whether it be mate, friend, Radster or FB chum.
As mentioned before ... What would be the point of winning that way.
My remark to Tony was mere banter no more no less.
I had no idea it would be taken the wrong way. If I had I wouldn't have posted it up.

as always there are great bikes in BOTM and looking at how close the top 5 bikes were show that.
A truly worthy winner.

Well that escalated quickly.... :-X
I don't think its frowned upon unless you vote for your own 17 times. ;D
was in response to...
Good job you never or you would have been hounded for 'cheating' (but then again, no comment was made when it was done in Jan and Feb :yahoo_silent: )
That's all, didn't realise it was still a subject no one is allowed to talk about.
Long live a cheat free BOTM... Its one of my favourite threads.
and BTW... 17 was the first random number that popped into my head... if I offended you in any way with this comment I'm not going to apologise, just ask you to take a chill... its a bit of banter!!
I refuse to walk on egg shells, I come here to relax and I enjoy my time here... if my sense of humor is not to your liking please try and ignore anything I post in the future.
Cheers Ta ;)
P.S. I hope no one takes offence to this post.
