Title: Dia Compe tech 2/3/4 Levers restoration
Post by: MrD on May 19, 2017, 09:14 PM
Hi all,

Just wondered if anyone has embarked on the complete disassembly of Dia Compe levers (for anodising etc), I've seen the restore kits on porkchop website but just curious if anyone has done it before as the tricky part is the rivet replacement.

Cheers

I have a pair stripped ready for restro but ain't had the time to do any work on them yet. I have new rivets, speaking to my engineer boss, he said there is a tool (sorry can't remember the name of it now) but like a centre punch, which you hammer over the blank end of the rivet that mushrooms it over. I ain't tried it myself as yet, so sorry can't advise any further

Animal (Steve) is the man, I believe he's re-riveted levers after being anno'd (he may even make his own rivets)
