Hi all,
I have read many sites stating the differnces between repop and OG levers , here's my Tech 3's worth with some pics to clarify.
Ive read that the MX stamping is much clearer/cleaner on the OG's - It is
Repops dont have any date code on bar clamp - OG's do
my final finding is that the lines under the Dia Compe logo are shorter on the OG's - see pics
Also the lever stop is a different shape - not as clean and angled as the OG - see pics
Cheers

Thanks for posting this up, especially with pics. This question comes up quite a bit, and is useful for people getting back into BMX after many years, or for the first time. Either the original moulds must have been lost, and/or they just don't make them the same way anymore to keep costs down.

Good info I always see the lettering is different and the mx stamp is less defined on the repops

There's also a slight colour difference :teef:

Yes Griff - a slight colour difference :wtf:, one was not amused when the repop turned up, it will end up for sale eventually.
I presume it's another way of telling the difference

Repops look cheap and nasty.

Just like with the calipers and seat post clamps etc, these are deliberately made to be different...but the same. 'New' Redline cranks have two pinch bolts, copy cranks (read Mirage) ape the original. The brand name 'Dia Compe' are not out ot 'copy' the original they are simply delivering a need for a product. The differences are obvious and designed to be so.

I've noticed the MX logo on the repop Tech 3 have got better over the last 5 years or so. Its a lot clearer. :-\ :daumenhoch:
