I am pretty sure that there are no UK based in print magazines now, the last one (Ride) shut it's doors a year or so ago :(

I find it amazing that how popular bmx is there are no mags for riders but loads of mags for other sort of bikes.i dont think there are any in the states either.

I recently found out that most magazines hardly sell any copies. Kerrang only sells about 24,000 issues, as do many cycling mags, so the bmx mags were probably only shifting 5,000 maybe? Even massive mags like Cosmopolitan only shift 400,000...that's nothing really out of 65million people.

Most old school bikes are way too short for someone of your height....
You may be better off with a mid school bike which generally have longer top tubes. all depends what you want to use the bike for. If you are just cruising you may get away with one of the longer OS bikes, but unfortunately your budget rules most OS bikes out. Most decent frames go for around £400

In which case you will have plenty of choice! You need a new school BMX with a 21" top tube at least. Plenty of bargains on ebay, look out for a full chromoly frame, sealed hubs, 3 piece cranks should be plenty of choice  :daumenhoch:
