So after searching for a long time I finally got my hands on a Ramp Room Taj. The only Hoffman's I am really passionate about are the early ones, and with a Condor and Big Daddy in the collection, this is the last Hoffman I wanted to get my hands on.
The frame was really clean but had unfortunately had the dropouts opened up to 14mm. It is now with Leroy / Entity BMX shop geting those repaired before heading to SBD for paint.

I have also been very lucky to find both original Taj forks (thaks Sen!) and a set of Ramp Room Superforks. Im on the fence as to which ones to run, but as I sold my inverted TNT stem the day before I found the Taj forks I am leaning towards the superforks until I can get another inverted TNT stem.

Im on the hunt for the parts while I wait for the frame to come back, so will update the thread as I go along.

I grabbed a well used set of Super Pro's off FB a few weeks back to use on the build. When they arrived they were in better shape than I thought they would be which was a nice surprised. The Rear axle was bent, the spokes were rusty, and the bearings a bit rough, but a lot of what made them look tatty was just dirt.

After stripping them down I realised that only one bearing needed replacing, and the rear axle only needed a little tweak to get back in shape. I soaked the wheels in an oxy bath and to my surprise they came out incredibly clean. A £3.00 bearing later and they are as good as new. Im also really pleased that the original chrome spokes came out so well. Most super pros have had these replaced with stainless spokes, so to have a set of these wheels with the originals spokes is a big bouns.

I now just need to find some 2.1 tan wall GT freestyle tyres and the wheels are sorted.

What colour are you doing this Jon?

Im going to paint it the tan/beige colour. It was always my favourite colour and you don't see many of them about.

Good score on the wheels dude they look rad

I have managed to make a bit of progress on this build. SBD worked his magic and I collected the bike form him at MK. Since then I have started putting it together but progress has been slow with work and everything else in between.

I am currently in the USA and managed to get these Ramp Room Low drag bars for the build. Steve very kindly helped connect me with a seller in the USA as part of a trade, and while I was here I managed to get them shipped to our office in Santa Cruz. They have been cut down heavily, but once I am back in the UK I will get Pat to put them back to the original 27 inch width.
Once that is done the build will be complete. :daumenhoch:

Wow! Nice find Jon, mega hard bars to find
-
Stunning stuff Jon. Those wheels look ideal condition.
-
Got the bars back from Pat at Limit and fitted them to the bike today. Finally got to a place where I am happy with the build. Will try and get some decent pics of the end result during the next week or so.

Very nice that. Is the Downtube oval?
Yes, both the top tube and the down tube, expertly shaped using a car jack in the ramp room (true story). :LolLolLolLol:

I was just thinking exactly the same.
From day one I’ve admired Jon’s photo taking, and his bikes are always top notch!

Thanks for all the kind words guys.
As for the photos, I actually use a 15 year old nikon, and a crappy 15 quid tripod. I do enjoy the process of documenting the finished builds though, and try find interesting places to shoot the pics. Glad to hear you guys enjoy them. :daumenhoch:

I don’t venture into the mid school section much, but now I can see what I’m missing. That bike is awesome, beautiful build mate :4_17_5:
