Title: Are these wheels any good? -- Halo Priest Switch
Post by: richiebozza on August 01, 2017, 10:42 PM
I'm looking for wheels for street and park use, I'm still getting up to speed with what modern brands are good or not, what do you peoples think of this wheel:

Sun Ringle Shred

It's got 11 teeth, are most riding 9?

Cheers!

Those Sun Big Baller's are a good strong rim & the hub looks to be one of the joytech type clones so 9/10t drivers are available. What sprocket do you plan on running?

I have a 25 tooth sprocket ready to roll.

So you think I should go 9 or 10 tooth driver?

real men use 28t  ;)

Or 30!  :daumenhoch:
I know 25/9 is the 'correct' ratio but it feels far too easy, 28/9 is way better. Even my 14 year old daughter runs 27/9!

In that case I think I will wait until I find something with 9 teeth.

Thanks folks!

My search for a rear chrome wheel for ramp and street continues...

I don't know anything about Halo or Matt Priest I'm afraid (still catching up with modern era) so does anyone have any thoughts on this Halo Priest Switch wheel, I think looking at the interview with Matt Priest in the description that maybe it's a 2012 wheel, so maybe the technology is a bit old now?

:) I had a Switch hub in last week for a service. The owner had ran it hard for for the last year with pretty much no problems other than it needed new bearings. As for the tech,I don`t think its moved on that much on BMX hubs for the last few years.
