Title: Haro Master Help needed for build up.
Post by: Old tool on August 08, 2017, 04:23 PM
Hello all
Trying to capture a bit of my youth again and been hankering to rebuild a Haro Master or 83/84 goose.I dont have any ,  YET. But hopefully start with a frame and fork. Survivor if possible.
But need info on what year the masters came without pegs on the forks?. Or was it the freestyler?
Also looking for good sources to buy parts etc. You know how it works.
Sorry for the questions but old age catches up with you know.
Growing old is inevitable growing up is optional.
Any help greatly appreciated
Thanks.

Welcome to  :radbmxsmilie:

You'll probably get a better response posting in Tech/Resto - I'll move the thread over there ;)

 :welcome to Rad  :radbmxsmilie:
84 Master had no pegs 85 onwards did.. they see are a rare beast indeed ..85's f and f alone are £550-750 depending on condition.
You rarely see an 84 mate .. hens teeth let alone a survivor..
I do know someone who is selling a complete 85 Survivor .. its lush .. 400 cranks etc all original.
LMK if you're interested mate ...
you might be better finding a cheaper and more common Goose .. someone sold a complete at the last ride for £480.. the Haro will be easily £1000+ for an 85 complete  :daumenhoch:

I'm Ant by the way .. welcome to the madness that will take over your life!  :LolLolLolLol:

Thanks for the info Ant.
Yes the madness has kicked in indeed.  But needing a new roof on the house has stalled the search for a frame and fork.
It WILL happen though. As you just cannot beat retro bmxs.
Looking at prices of the masters it might be more wallet friendly for a goose. A cali or supergoose probably.
Then get it built.
When it happens i will keep you all  informed of the build and probably need some advice.
34yrs ago a last sat me backside on one . Still feel like a big kid now thinking about another bmx.
