Title: 1983 GT Pro
Post by: Gnarlyscoots on August 11, 2017, 11:56 PM
Back in 1983, up to the month April, GT released the Pro with seriously nice parts. From April that year, they dropped the quality components for cheaper products for whatever reason. So, here is my March 1983 dated GT Pro. The only difference to spec are the cranks and rims, plus added Hutch headlock. I also swapped out the Tech 2 lever for a Tech 3 as it is being ridden. Complete survivor condition down to the chain.

******Original black padset wanted to complete this bike******

March 1983 GT Pro frame and fork, original finish, decals and shop decal,
GT Pro Handlebars,
Tuf Neck Pro stem,
a'me bubble font rounds,
Tange headset with Hutch 1.5 headlock,
Ukai box rims in chrome,
Shimano cassette hubs,
IRC Z-1 tyres,
Dia Compe MX1000,
Dia Compe brake cable,
Dia Compe Tech 3 lever,
KKT Lightning pedals,
3rd gen Profile cranks,
Profile BB,
Sugino 44T chainring,
Profile spider,
Izumi chain,
Viscount MX seat,
GT laid back post, original decal,
Xcalibur seat clamp.

Seriously that is 1983 all in one neat package Terry. Brilliant. I can imagine tearing around the local streets and tracks on that like it was yesterday.

Time travel Oldschool style mate.

Love it. And it's a rider  :smitten:

Thanks Spen. I knew this would be right up your street being a survivor, and ridden  ;)  It's just done a few miles in south of France the past 3 weeks 😎
