Title: Superbike Dan pics please
Post by: Midschoolfool on October 19, 2017, 08:05 PM
Hey guys. I was going to get my Burner done locally but I saw some pics of a SBD powder job yesterday and decided to call him. It will be expensive (because I want Super gloss) but it may just be worth it 'cause let's face it, I'm only going to do this once.

Can I see pics of your bikes done by Dan please? powder preferable :)

SBD's work is flawless, at least I've never heard anybody complaining.  :daumenhoch:
I'm from Germany, but would bite the bullet and do the shipping to get it done by SBD rather than trying something in my area.  :daumenhoch:

That's called candy and normally comes in red or blue but I have seen green and other colours.

Yeah he seems very clued up which is nice. I also much prefer the chemical strip idea tbh. The brake posts on my Quad were pretty badly peppered when it came back so I had to sand them smooth. And he charged me more than Dan ! (though granted it was local so worked out ever so slightly cheaper). He did do a great job on my Quad but he also coated a few things he shouldn't have leading to me having to get it off.

Mine is candy red over perfect chrome , he does do a chrome powder too that can be used in lieu of chrome

Swan - I assume you had that "super glossed"  yeah? he wants an additional £30 for that but I think it may be well worth it, if it's like a good clear coat on a custom paint job.

I think that level of mirrored/reflective candy finish can only be achieved over flawless chrome. Dan does chrome powdercoat with a candy coat over the top but it's nowhere near as clear as that.  :daumenhoch:

haha. I would strongly imagine so tbh. He's a very knowledgeable man. I used to have a full painting rig etc when I lived out in the states so I asked him a few questions and yeah, he really knows his shit.

Dan powdered 2 of mine in candy blue and candy red. I wanted a more subtle finish, more ‘metallic’ rather than deep gloss/high shine/bling, so Dan did both of mine straight on top of the raw metal. The finish is amazing, and was exactly what i wanted
