Title: Re: seat clamp
Post by: login_user on January 10, 2018, 09:13 PM
Received this seat clamp today[attachment=1]

A quick clean with nitro mores to remove the paint.
Take a 1" wide chisel (or something flat) wrap it in 250grit wet and dry and sand down the top to get rid of the dents, the chisel helps get a nice crisp flat finish. Once the dents are gone repeat using 600, 800 and then 1200 grit wet and dry.

hand sand the sides to remove most of the dents using 120grit wet and dry. If you want to keep the original texture and finish don't use any thing finer.

Spray with a satin black and allow to dry.

Take the chisel and 1200 grit and sand odd the paint from the top of the clamp and give a quick polish with autosole.

And  marvel at your work. (I didn't spend as much time on this as I would normally as it's for a rider, new would look out of place.
