HI All,
Decided another freestyle build had to be done for 2018, so started snooping around to see if I could find something a little unusual/rare. Denzil came up trumps with a frame, forkset and bars he's been hanging onto for a while, an Anlun made 85 StreetDevil that came out of the factory around the same time they were building Haro frames (also look really similar to some Kuwi freestyle frames made by anlun around the same time too..). Only one of these on the museum so no danger of bumping into another one...
Here's a few piccies of the frame and forks right now and will upload more as the project progresses.... :daumenhoch:
-
Hell yea , never seen one of those! Looks a bit like a Master with bits added on.....Look forward to progress.... :daumenhoch:
-
Thinking of doing summink along these lines, like the idea of the grey and pink, but will add a few white items to the mix as well.... Already have a few bits for this on the way, Hustler Fred blood pro bars, white forklifter, white tioga qr clamp and frame standers, white anlun one piece chain wheel and kuwi Laserpost....
-
Great looking frame set. Look forward to seeing how this comes along. Love the more unusual builds! :daumenhoch:
-
Loving the grey and pink think it would be a cool choice for your build very mid 80s freestyle 👍
-
Yeah I agree, the grey/pink will look really cool and of the time.
-
Took ages to find them bars !!!
-
Don't worry mate, i'm going to have both sets of bars powdered and see what looks best! :D ;D
-
Been having a rethink on the colour scheme and thought i'd throw summink together on photoshop to see how it might look. Found an outline sketch online for a kuwahara magician which it pretty close for a starting point. The wheels probably wont be 6 spokers but it works well enough to see the colours..
will be using GT/Tioga colours from 86/87ish... so could be a bit crazy. what do you think lads....:crazy2: :idiot2: or not?
-
Go for it... looks pretty cool. :daumenhoch:
-
I like em like this. Here's something kinda similar ( but a GT ) I had saved in me photos that I also liked.[attachment=1]
-
alternative colour scheme....still mulling it over
green would be ral6018 and pink would be ral4003 so should keep Mr SBD busy :)
Sourced these lovely blue tuffs off of Funkyworm so will make a choice on the other blue parts once I've clapped my eyes on them!
-
I prefer the top one. :daumenhoch:
-
I like the green.....

It's going to be ace Neil.
-
like the pink version, love these kinda builds. :daumenhoch:
-
Come up with another colour option for the build and decals, think this might be :4_17_5:
Will have green Tioga rear frame standers too... 8)
Colours will be:
GT Lavender/Purple (RAL 4008)
GT Yellow (RAL 1018)
GT Green (RAL 6018)
:daumenhoch:
-
I'm liking the way your going with that fella, but? (and just my opinion ;)) those decals need to pop! and I dont think the green are? what about a bit of chrome or maybe a vivid green or whatever colour you decide with make it a striking colour? I think the bike would look better finished with decal's that really make it pop! :daumenhoch:

Cheers for the comments mate,
yep i know the colours look a bit muted on here but i've seen pics of the ral codes I'll be using and they will be brighter in real life. also the 'streetdevil' text will be clear on the decal so will actually be the frame colour. :daumenhoch:
-
Lot of thought gone into that Neil.....
If you can think up something for a Jamis & freeflite I'd appreciate it

Looking good fella, keep it up fistblump

Okay...this is DEFO the last iteration and WILL be the way I go (probably....) :LolLolLolLol:
Colours are GT Green (RAL6018) and GT Bubblegum Pink (RAL4003) with some blue bits in there too... The new decal design is a bit of a ripoff of an 88 Street Beat but I think it works...
Partially inspired by Dave Vanderspek's Green Dyno (one of my fav pics) 8)
:daumenhoch:
-
Probably not what you want to hear but for me the yellow in the decals is a bit missplaced :-\
Still its your build and beauty is in the eye of the beholder!
You only need look in the babe of the day thread to confirm that ;D
-
Thinking about a simpler decal design but not sure if best to go with white or chrome. Think chrome would look good but there won't be any other chrome parts on the build soooo......?
-
Nice project mate! The last colour scheme is my favorit so far, but I would go with white decals. :)

August isn't very far away Neil.........

decal design finalised and waiting on Del to work his magic....
-
Surely it should have an Anlun stem? colours look ace :daumenhoch:
-
This is going to look great Neil, can't wait to see it built up.
-
Those decals are very Ghoulish! 8) Its gonna cost a bomb if your going to build it with Anlun specific parts tho?
-
I managed to source an anlun chain wheel, but the although the frame/forks were Anlun made, I don't think the other components were. I always see freestyle builds as a bit of a free for all regarding the components anyway!! >:D :D
-
Few quick shots of the fitted decals, top job by Del as always! Slight issue is the downtube decal might be too long and will be obscured by the chainring. :nickswan: lookin like a quick reorder request to del for a slightly smaller set of downtube decals, but they at least show how it's gonna end up... :daumenhoch:
-
Like them Neil, deffo needs a smaller one on't tube though
