I'm finding myself increasingly drawn to parts with an oil slick finish, as shown below!! I haven't bought anything yet but can see the day coming. Is anyone else a fan? :D
-
I kinda like it too :daumenhoch: doesn't suit everything tho for example I first saw it on some trick custom car wheels now on there own they looked rad but once fitted to the car I just didnt like it? ??? maybe its down to the main colour of the car? saying that what colour frame do you think that finish would compliment best? ::)

Good question!! Hadn’t thought that far ahead. Maybe chrome or possibly white. It’d have to be something plain to offset the multi-coloured effect.
-
Yes a plain colour should set it off but finding that colour will be key fella :daumenhoch:

I thought the oil slick craze was over? Not worth it IMO-some stuff is £100 or more than the same items in standard colours...
-
I've got a real nice set of Snafu oil slick bars on my Kappa, look great, but bloody expensive!
-
& bar ends too from the look of it - very nice! The Mini’s cool too! :daumenhoch:

Then maybe now’s the time to pick something up cheap-ish! When did it all kick off? A few years ago I guess. Thanks James!

Oil slick/jet fuel bumpage! :daumenhoch:
-
I like these! :coolsmiley:

I still giggle at how they call it "Jet Fuel".
As someone who used to work with the stuff, if it wasn't perfectly clear then there was cause for concern.
Does look good if used in the right way though.
-
Yeah, I think oil slick is a more accurate description for the finish but I guess doesn't sound as cool!! ::)
-
I like it, think it still looks cool. Fitted some Rainbow parts on my last build, which is yet another name for the finish I think. Top brands do charge a load more for the privilege! Go for it it’s Christmas 🎄
-
Not for me i’m afraid. Never been keen on cars with that finish either, but each to their own. Do it your way, and build it for yourself. That’s RAD in my book fistblump
