They have sat in the box unloved for a good while - until today!
I decided it was time i got round to having a go at some Demco stylee pedal cages for them :)
With the Ali already ordered ages ago i sketched a few cage designs and once happy set about taking some accurate measurements with my digital calipers
(you should all have a set by now ;) )
Next i transfered my design to the ali after covering it in making tape
-
Made a dinky jig to hold the ali against. This also serves as a hand guide to keep the holes in line :daumenhoch:
-
The hole left in the Mdf underneath made for a handy indexing point to line up the next hole. A quick tap on the drawings confirms all was correct and the teeth of the cages were done.
Tomorrow im hoping to get the bodies drilled out and the cages cut into their seperate sections :)
-
Nice
-
Them bodies are well cool... looking forward seeing the cages. :daumenhoch:
-
You’ve done it again our Clinton :4_17_5:

Top work Clint :4_17_5:

:LolLolLolLol:
A frustratingly short and late lunch today but got all the larger holes drilled, seperated the two parts and filed the ovals on one of the cages
-
Another lunch, another step further :daumenhoch:
Got the cages pretty much finished short of a final tickle. Made a wooden former to bend the cages, thats tommorows job :)
-
Get a shuffty on, I'm dying to see if them holes line up

Bloodyhell Clint! Magazine production, Mancunian picking, master craftsman!! Is there no end to your talents (beginning with "M" or otherwise)?? Top skills mate!

Wow explosion unbelievable skills there Clint. I love seeing workmanship like this, for me this is what bmx building is all about doing stuff yourself, be it painting, cleaning parts up, lacing your own wheels or actually making parts yourself like you do rather than just bolting on high end shiny parts. Great thread, that’s why I love it on here :daumenhoch:
-
Some of your best work Clint, phenomenal skills as always :4_17_5:
I keep coming back to check out the pic's in this thread. Thanks for sharing.
