Title: HI EVERYONE!

Hi all, completely new to BMX and joined the forum on behalf of my two boys who are 5 and 8 years old. They've really taken to riding round their local track at Bruntwood Park in Stockport (UK) so thought I'd join the forum to do some research before buying them a BMX (currently on a mountain bike and a very beat up 18" BMX).

My advice would be, at this stage don’t spend a fortune on bikes, not until you’re sure that they’re really into it. I’d be inclined to shell out more on all the safety gear, helmets, gloves, pads etc, most well run tracks will insist on this anyway.

Thanks guys. Got some basic safety gear, helmets obviously and some knee and elbow pads. Just wondering if to upgrade the helmets to full face ones... And will get them gloves too. I'll be looking at buying used BMXs if we delve deeper 👍
