Title: Hellair!
Post by: Rumpus on August 14, 2018, 02:25 PM
Hi guys,

BMX fan for many years, in fact a fan of everything from the 80's.  Recently picked up a couple of Street Beats, one of which will be ridden and one for display. Been picking up various trick bits from ebay over the last couple of months and getting to the point where I'll start building them shortly.

Anyhow, it's good to be here.

PS - is it possible to buy street beat decals? Are they available NOS or reproduced in the UK/USA?

Cheers.

...and I look forward to build piccies in time.
Delcals are usually a good bet for reproduction decals and one offs, http://www.delcals.com/store/
If you do not see what you want just ask, they do many more than the website shows  ;)

Sure, I'll throw a few pics up shortly.

Thanks for your help, much appreciated!  :daumenhoch:

For some reason I cannot upload a pic of the green one. I've tried alsorts.

As you can see, I need to swap brake blocks over etc.

The green one came from Alans purchased NOS. Well pleased with it although I will change the crank arms, pedals, grips seat post and brakes in time. I have some parts already. The wheels/tyres that came with it are on the white one.

The white one came from ebay. Purchased as never ridden and I personally believe that. The decals are peeling pretty badly in places and the bars need work but the paintwork on the frame is pristine except for where the wheels pinch up. I prefer the MK1 EZ bars and have a nice set that I’m going to sort out. I was going to have them powdered but I decided to go with spraying them using Cellulose. I’ve done loads of spraying and restoration work over the years and fully equipped to do the job so happy to take them on and can get the paint colour matched no problem.

I’m looking out for a bike that needs restoring as I’d like to have an orange beat to go with the other two.

Screenshot and edit your pic and try again mate. It's a pain in the arse but it works sometimes.
