Title: Streetbeat Info
Post by: 76 on October 11, 2018, 10:48 PM
I have a '88 NOS frame in Teal/Chrome that I'm considering building up.  I also have an '85 NOS 'Beat and  realise from previous research that the earlier 'beats were sold as F/F only so there was no specific spec.

So mainly my question is is in '88 was it possible to buy a complete rider? If so what was the spec list.

Just pondering my options, even if there were completes available it doesn't mean I would follow that path but just want to make a considered decision, of course I may just leave it in its plastic warpper and put it back in the box :-\ :LolLolLolLol:

They were available as completes. The mk1's were just f and f, the two tones were offered as completes and so were the next gen. i am not sure of the exact spec but i do know they came with a turbo disc! stevesredvxr is your man, he will know the spec of the 88 completes  :daumenhoch:

Another tip while you’re waiting, is visit the Skyway section in the museum on here, chances are that someone has posted pics of a NOS complete Beat.

Should they not be Tech 77's ?

Definitely Tech 7’s but they are mega rare and mega expensive 😄

I’d probably use a chrome and black set of Tech 5’s as a substitute

Just taken this, if you'd like anymore pics of it let me know.  It's pretty much where it was but  possibly in the process of turning it into a 'real' project.

i think i would be tempted to use Odyssey 2000 calipers and RX-3 levers on one of these to tie in with the seatclamp...
