Title: Tioga Task Force Headlock Conversion?
Post by: Chilli Rinse on July 30, 2019, 05:35 PM
Has anybody thought of or tried to convert a task force headlock into a seat clamp ? Any luck ? Is it up to the job ? Thoughts or concerns please guys.
Thanks.

I have often thought the same but never had one to give it a go? If you can knock the threaded bit out maybe?

The threaded bit just presses out. There is just not enough strength in the head lock clamp to a seat post. The grub screw in them is only a 4mm.

That's a shame, I suppose if you drilled out the hole and used a bolt with a bigger thread but with a smaller shoulder the body of the clamp would be weakened and not take the stress. That's my plan foiled, bummer because it would look cool as fook! Why didn't they just do a matching seat clamp ???

Thanks for your reply 👍🏼
