I've always had a soft-spot for 80's cruisers so when this beauty popped up in the summer I couldn't help myself...

I decided on a mix of blue, chrome 'n gold parts so I've been slowly sourcing stuff over the last 3 months that will do the frameset justice..

Class! You've a pair of belters there Ady. My last one (a Springer Spaniel) just loved finding a dead bird and rolling his shoulders on it. He loved the beach too.
-
I just know this is going to be a first class bike,,,,,just like any other you've done :4_17_5:
Looking forward to seeing the finished article ,Tim :coolsmiley:

There buggers when they do that..
In the above clip there was something dead under the sand and she did the normal rolling in it ::)

A bit of 401 crankage..

I picked up these early 80's SE cruiser bars about 5 years ago so it'll be interesting to see how they ride compared to the Hutch bars that I have on my '82 Floval..

So I put it together today with the fat/thin Rainbow labels, nos Shimano DX pedals and a repop Tange MX5 headset... but just wasn't sure

I wasn't happy with the headset (a little too much gold and not OG) and the bike rode super wierd with what felt like a very heavy front end due to the fatty tyre. It looked even bigger in the flesh.
So I replaced the headset with a NOS Tange MX3 in chrome and blue. Way more classy and subtle too. I also chucked a 1.75 on the front. Handles way better and looks the part now.
