Title: MX 900 rivets
Post by: Hedsta on November 29, 2019, 09:24 PM
Evening chaps...

Im sure this has been covered before whats the best advice re-attaching the rivet that holds the quick release in place on an MX-900?

I know I can get the replacement studs but its the putting them back o that Im stuck with. I've read you need a press and I've read you can do it with a hammer?

Any advice on what size replacement studs I'd need as well would be gratefully received as I've never done this before  :uglystupid2: :uglystupid2:

Thanks in advance as always

Steve

You need a rivet press bud, you'll never do it with a hammer. I'm sure Steve "Animal" made a jig to do them but don't know if he's still got it - would be worth dropping him a pm to see :coolsmiley:

Thanks bro...wil look him up.

You dont know what size rivets I'd need? I can find them for MX1000's but not sure if the same ones would fit 900's?

Thanks again

Steve :) :)

You can do this quite easily with a a rivet snap and hammer. Rivet snaps are cheap:

They are simply punches with a concave dimple in the end. From memory I think I used 3/32
