I as very proud to have won Decembers BOTM with my Yamaha BYZ401, so I thought I would post some pictures.
This very bike was a present from my parents to me on Christmas Day 1982 and I have had it ever since.
It was thrashed around the streets and it was also the bike I started racing on, so it has had a hard life.
I decided to give it a new lease of life, but repainting the frame and I had the original parts re-anodised, if I couldn't use the original part I replaced it like for like, the only part I couldn't find (and I will keep looking) was the original Cross Royale foam grips.
It now looks like it did Christmas day 38 years ago.
I have also put a picture of me riding this bike at Southampton (Solent Spitfires) track, it was probably the last race I had on it before going to JMC.

Amazing to still have your original bike after all those years Christmas 82 must have been special to wake up to that :D :D

Stunning bike :4_17_5: I remember first seeing one of these in the bmx action bike paper bitd :daumenhoch:

As has already been said, stunning resto. And you were a lucky boy, back in 82 I woke on Christmas day to an Iron Horse Dirt Burner. Made out of chewing gum and weighing in at the combined mass of two Big Daddy's and one Giant Hay Stacks ;D. But I loved that all the same, though I do also remember dreaming of something like your Yamaha in the mag ad's at the same time.
Top work :4_17_5:

There used be a Fantic dealership in Bury that used to sell these... we used to ride over to look at em in the window. Nice work Sean. :daumenhoch:

Pete, I was a lucky boy, but had to promise to sell my Scorpion to give some money back to my parents (we were pretty poor), managed to not sell the Scorpion though as I still have it LOL.
