Title: Tange re pro Mx headset question
Post by: catman79 on February 17, 2020, 10:52 AM
Gents, I’m currently in the process of restoring my 81 supergoose, i was on the lookout for a decent mongoose stamped headset, which seem to fetch silly money. I’m now toying wit the idea of fitting a re pop tange headset, but not sure which one might be more correct of that age if any, the Mx320, 125 or 5. Any ideas / suggestions?

Not sure if this helps at all. This is a listing pic of a Tange catalogue I bought on eBay recently. It’s not dated but I think it’s pre 1983. Another page lists only the sc-1 seat clamp. I’m sure there’s more catalogue stickies on here too. (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200217/ace206b2f3083747ca999c580023b340.jpg)

Check out this 1983 Tioga catalogue Paul shared

Personally I would go for something vintage rather than fit a reissue part unless you’re set on the idea. A classic Tange AW-27 or MX-II would be a suitable replacement and shouldn’t be silly money ;)
