Title: 1989 Auburn CR-20R
Post by: stidds on March 10, 2020, 09:46 PM
Always loved the look of Auburns so got myself an early 1989 model.

They always look like they are going fast when standing still.

This is the 1st generation model which has the chromoly Tri-Link bolt on rear triangle rather than the later models with the aluminium Works-Link triangle.

It also has Auburn forks and Auburn CR-Bars which are superb bars, lovely Araya Super 7X rims laced to a set of Schwinn hubs and Pr1mo V-Track tyres.  GT/Profile cranks with an Asco powerdisc and PPP chainring with an old KMC chain.

Really happy with the way it turned out, it was exactly as I planned.

Really like that! The number plate too! :daumenhoch:

Have you noticed the rear triangle design at all when giving the bike a good thrashing? For example, can you feel any flex? I'm guessing not, but have always wondered with these.

Very nice Sean  :daumenhoch:
My memory fails me ,was it that you could buy different lengths of the rear triangle ?

Gary

That was the rumour however I am not sure it ever happened, I have never seen of any longer/shorter triangles, but it would have been a great idea.

It is a different one, I still have the yellow one, this is a year older and rarer.
