Hi. I hope everyone is well.
Anyone doing a build or starting one because we are all at home now with more time on our hands?
I'm gonna build my Kuwi.
Post up a pic if you can.
Stay well :smitten:

Hey Matt,
BMX could be perfect therapy during these times and also a good chance to get those projects finished!!
My one is a gold super burner (yes it's a burner so get over it!) Luckily I got it all sprayed and sorced bits before all this so just a case of finishing it off.
Stay safe radsters.

Yes it's a Burner so get over it! Just need to source some original grips, job done.
Stay safe out there guys.

Decisions, Decisions.... the smoked coating is all but gone from this bike. BB ,gusset and some welds still show colour.
Do I build it as a chrome bike, keeping what colour is left to show it's a genuine HLT.
Do I get it's colour redone.. loosing what's left tho.
Do I go full on colour change. The white One and the candy red one look really good.

Although the smoke finish had gone - a DB looks lovely in chrome and it will still have an unrestored/original look to it.
But that's just an opinion Danny and you should build it how you want to. With the parts you've got lined up it will look cracking either way

I’ve put some time into my Procraft build today. Nearly done. The SE Blitz Seat will be making way for something more appropriate soon hopefully. (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200404/50aae8f6d8aa7d12a3f679b1e212d7a9.jpg)

Bought at MK a couple of years ago. I did my usual trick of sourcing all of the parts within a couple of months, and then leaving it all stashed in the box room! :idiot2:
Coronavirus Lockdown has helped me find the love, again. FFS I am even posting on RAD, and sending PMs to old mates (you know who you are). :daumenhoch:

Go on Rich mate - nice one, get a build thread going :coolsmiley:

nice find :daumenhoch: that looks like it'll clean up nicely :daumenhoch: pretty rare model aswell :)
-
Cheers bud, apart from brake cable it's completely original too!
Not much moved on it so a overnight soak in plus gas aided with that.
All parts stripped off so gonna give frame and bars a good long soak in citric acid bath. I recon it will come up ok. (Aided with elbow grease!)
I will go for the survivor build so all bits to go back on.
Big thanks to Benno for passing this onto me.
So much for no more projects!!!

Forgot about the Halfords, they were the main driver for the Bmx track, and the first event In 1980. Well reminded👊🏻

The Chrome Burner in both Mk1 and Mk2 variations, are very underrated models, in my opinion.

They look ace Steve. The grey & blue colour combo was always one of my fave colour combos late BITD. Remember rattle canning my DP in it, but with a fade effect between the two colours, oh to be young and care free again.
Looking forward to seeing these built.
-
Well after overnight soak in citric acid and a bit of elbow grease the old girl has got her shine back!!
May just give it 1 more rub (bike!) before new decals arrive.
