Yep & theres radsters taking the piss on price as well on there...... £225 for whiite alloy hubbed tuffs with a replacement screwed in hub is scandelous... I sold 4 perfect sets last year In white cleaned up with peroxide for £125-150 a set ...

One thing that grips mey sh*t about all these people selling is that they say that they are serious collectors and been in this hobby for years and yet nobody on a Forum like this knows who they are? ??? Granted there are a few big collectors over the years who like to remain private but they hardly ever sell a thing as many of us are aware and have come across thru this forum and one or two others but this Bridgade who splash all this so called bmx jewellery at massively inflated prices are never known? strange? ::)

It's not just BMX parts, I've sold some stuff on eBay recently for way more than I thought it would fetch. They were retro items and as we all know, anything retro and collectable has had a decent surge in recent years, I wasn't expecting such a surge though. I thought I was just lucky, but a couple of items flew up with bids and although both retro, they're not hobbies that are connected.
I have noticed a decrease in the price of vinyl though during the pandemic.
Mad times.

In my defence I put them on with a 99p start bid hoping I might get 40-50 for the front one and someone might fix or patch in the rear keep them as a display pair or something. But was definitely surprised and never thought in a million years they would have sold for that money. I have a few new sets sitting in boxes awaiting builds crazy to think what they?d go for if advertised.

The last few bikes I built were my Torker and GT, I was lucky as most of the parts the I wanted I already had and a lot of the RADsters helped me out with the rest. I did however have to buy some bits myself off eBay and as you know, I'm not shy of repop parts, but even they have crept up in the last couple of years.

These seemed to be the first to rocket, 8 years ago you could get a nice OG Kashi with KSM guts for ?75, here, in 2020, a repop is ?15 behind that, it's mad. I guess I noticed it more when my daughter was born and my pocket money allowance dropped, building bikes now even with repop parts is just a non starter for me (?hooray? I can hear you shout).

He offered me the 2 Wilson frame and fork sets for ?1500 the pair before putting on ebay! Told him they 250 each framesets and even sent him link to a Wilson complete that sold for 500! Then about 2 days later noticed someone had bought the freestyler for 800quid!

Personally I think everyone holding stock is looking to get out. The market for OS BMX is shrinking and the economy is about to tank along with huge jobs loses.
So whilst the very, very best will always do good money the core stuff probably not worth it for some guys and they are selling good stuff at inflated prices to cover the loses they will probably make in coming years as OS BMX shrinks.
As a result everyone putting up prices on anything OS BMX.
There will always be someone who'll buy at any price but I suspect if most buyers hold their nerve prices will recede in coming years and it'll be more a hobby again than a rich mans game.

The wheel discs? he lists them himself. For 60 quid. You can get them off Bankrupt for about ?18 atm.

The buyers are ruining the hobby, along with the continual stream of 'the world's gone mad? posts on FB with screenshots of eBay listings.
Personally, I have cashed in on the situation. I advertised my Hutch on here and FB for ?1600, I even said on here that I?d accept offers, I?d have let it go for ?1500 to a trusted, known RAD member, I didn't get one nibble. So, I decided to split and list on eBay to maximize my potential return. I'm glad I did, even after fees, I've cleared over ?800 just on cranks, pedals and power disc.
I wasn't sure how much to list for, but used advice off other members and other similar items, to gauge my start price.
The FB moaners and screenshot warriors are hiking up prices themselves, and aren't even noticing themselves doing it.
