You must have done it, bought a part that was a bit of a gamble ? Then think shite, not so sure now, I'll have to wait until it arrives and find out :LolLolLolLol: I'm waiting to find out on such a gamble.
Have any turned out well for you ? I need your happy endings to give me hope :LolLolLolLol:

Ha!
Bought what I hoped was a TA on de. years ago, 1 crap picture, the forks looked TA 'ish' and the seat post also..........turned out to be JUNK!
Not long after bought a PK on de. again, knew it was a ripper but LG's turned out to be NOS and he 'found' his mint set of baby blue/brown pads and threw them in the deal. It was all-in under 300 euros.....oh the days.....
Good luck!

One bad one good then. With a very good result on the second.
My purchase is not so grand, it's a Hutch head lock. I'm hoping it's a magnesium version though. Apparently the finish on the aluminum version is ano, the magnesium is finished with DOW17, some sort of anodising for magnesium from what I could find on it. The one I've bought doesn't look like a classic anodised finish, although it's very worn and faded. I will know when I pop it on the scales. There's a 10g difference, 21 ish g for the magnesium version.
Fingers crossed 🤞🏼

So the head lock arrived today. Put it on the scales and it weighed in at a supercool 21g
explosion
It is rough but magnesium it is :daumenhoch:

Nice one! :daumenhoch:
I've just pulled the trigger on an un-named, used, all-carbon seat! I think that qualifies me for the taking chances club! :idiot2:

:LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol: Definitely does, let us know how you get on with that one. Order any nappies (padded pants) at the same time? :-X

Defo let us know if you're gamble pays off Mick :daumenhoch:

Yeah, nappies would most definitely be required were I actually to ride on that thing. I'm not THAT crazy, however! "nono"
My rationale for taking such a chance is that it supposedly only weighs 100g, which is 75g less than the Tioga Spyder on my GT! Since the only time I ever use the seat on that is sitting down before and after racing, I thought I'd shave off a bit more weight! I also have a shorter carbon post winging its way over from Blighty as we speak, which I'm intending to pair it up with. With them both on the bike, I might even sneak into the 17lbs bracket! :daumenhoch:
-
For what it's worth, I think that will look much nicer than the Tioga Spyder, I've never liked the look of them. If it shaves a bit more weight off too, it's a win win :daumenhoch:
-
I flippin' well hope so! Will update with pics once it arrives. :daumenhoch:

I think my gamble paid off! :daumenhoch:
Seat and post pics attached. The jury's still out on the looks but at least I've shaved another 100g off the bike's weight. >:D
