Title: Tuf Neck chainring Surprise? have a read of this?
Post by: Taipan on March 16, 2021, 03:41 PM
A while back I asked the question about stripping a white Tuf neck cross type chainring? well I finally managed to strip it  :daumenhoch: it was nos in the packet when bought and the powder coat white was obviously from the factory as it had never been out the packet but had a lil surprise when I did strip it as underneath it was in fact a red anodised chainring in mint condition when completely stripped!  anybody else found this out? I'd be interested to know?

Me too.
I got a orange and a purple from US with intention to strip.
My guess is when Freestyle took off in mid 80s surplus stock got repainted.

Hi.
My Tufnecks, blue ano under pink powder and a red ano under orange powder.

I mind a mates Tuf stem years ago, him stripping off the paint for the ano finish.
