Hi guys I've got 3/8" axle spindle on a night burner
I bought a newer rim with same 3/8" nuts and half nuts they are interchangable, but I had bought some newer nuts which were 3/8" tpi 24 UNF and UNC, but they don't start the thread???
My orignal nuts look bigger, but in mm they are the same so question is it 26tpi im looking for?
All I need is some black half nuts that will fit the 3/8" spindle?
cheers in advance for advice!

Hi Jay,
I had a similar issue a few years back and depending on the hub manufacturer (Suzue/Shimano/suntour etc) the TPI did change between them (can't remember who had what), anyway in short 26TPI sorted my issue.

Hey MrD,
Cheers for reply My hubs are Sturmey Archies the newer hubs are generic, but I've just bought a Suzue rear hub so waiting to respoke!
I'll give the 26tpi a shot, otherwise I'm collecting a nice collection of 3/8" nuts now ;D
Cheers

Suzue/Shimano/ACS are all 3/8th 26TPI
Suntour change between 3/8th 26TPI & M10x1.0
Most Coasters Suntour, NK, etc. are 24 TPI
Tuffs can be a mixed lottery, but generally 24TPI
I ended up buying one 24tpi and one 26tpi wheel nut from Alans (something like 99p each) and keeping them in a marked bag. Easier than guessing when a new hub comes into question :daumenhoch:.
Good luck.

Not a bad plan Picklez to have a few spares, some people are horders though..... ;D
I've recieved the Suzue hub, sorting out the bearings but in good order.
It seems all of the hubs axle I own are 26tpi :)
I'll be spoking for the first time I could spend 25 quid and get it done, but some builders are fussy, must have new spokes and nipples undone wheel before start jeez I'll do it myself except for the truing.
Either way I'll give it ago!
