Who decided that it would be the case that the drive would be on the right side of the BB,any bikes that buck the trend.... :daumenhoch:

Just spotted a Mirra co in the new skool with crank on the left,never seen that before..... :shocked:

Loads of bike are Left Hand drive now. Its so if you have pegs in the right, you can get the chain out of the way. Not so important now with micro drive but it still helps.

crank drive on the right is so the freewheel screws on with normal thread, and doesnt get undone when pedalling: clockwise

As most people are right footed you get a more positive drive from having the chain on the side of your launch foot. Modern racers try to eek every last advantage they can and some that are goofy footed (left foot forward) switch to left hand drive for that reason.
