Hi all
Another few finds this weekend, so any help would be great on this one, did I do well for £3, or should I of let it go as skip food....I didn't really want to let it get melted down.
So if you fancy a few minutes of fun, what are the components and approx age -

Frame is a Redline, but what model and year?
The bars are very wide and have great welds, what are they?

Please list any other things on it that you know model etc, stem (ACS?), seat post, forks, wheel (ARAYA) etc....
Thanks ;)

Dyno Pretzel Bars
Not too good with Redline, 600A???
Suntour Hub, on araya areo? (people will try and buy that wheel)
Dia Compe Seat post clamp?
-
hinged mx seatclamp? sugino/takagi crank/spider chaiwheel
-
SR Chain Wheel?
-
not keen on them forks tho.
-
what are they?
GT? Karstan?
Crap?
-
Its later than an 81 or 82 Redline frame numbers make no sense even if you ask Redline. Why the hell would you sticker it as Giant and is it for sale?
-
sammarcopizza has a cople of redlines. maybe he can id it. i know F.A about redline
-
You're all good....very good
I have stripped it down tonight and have some more details -
The crank is a Sugino 178 (that normal?)
Seat clamp is mint and mx hinged
Araya Aero is very good condition with no brake wear, so the rim is gold. It has a few minor scratches and runs true with the hub looking good, but does have a few bent spokes.
I think the stem is ACS as it has half a sticker
The seat post is 18" approx and has a sticker Primo 1?
Forks are still unkown
Spider is Sugino
Chain ring bolts Sugino
KMT chain
Sealed BB Bearings (and good nick) ;)
I am hoping to clean it fully tomorrow and then list the remanding items.
I would still be greatful for the Frame Model.
I might keep this frame (I always liked Redline) and if so will be able to start racing again (on a budget), so if anyone wants to see another ole 30 something going nuts and as competition, i'm in, but need a few bits to get me started - forks, wheels and bars.
Anyone want the other items? Let me know.
Cheers

Look at the angle near the stem, the Dyno are flat, the black bars on this Redline are curved.
Did they do different versions?
Thanks
-
mmm..not sure now...but i have a pair of bars exactly the same as the ones on the redline

There are 2 styles of Dyno bars.
One set is stamped under the area where the grips are the otehrs are not.
-
looks like an 1985 500a to me. 1983 600a frame numbers run in the 2000's

Greentoad. Great find, well done. Would you be prepared to sell the seat clamp? Is it orginal and in good condition? I have been after a chrome one for ages. Cheers Stevo

Hi just going through the final stages, and have very dirty hands :(
The bike is now stripped and cleaned and in pretty good nick really, the wheel is great and....
the forks are Tange......has anyone seen these before and do they ring a bell, they are very light.
Ref the clamp, it's great nick - just soaking in Shell's finest, i'll let you know.

Tange is good!
