right, here my little Haro collection.
The chrome one I got off someone here and loved it so much I went and bought 2 more, the original one is staying that way and wont be ridden, may put some white tuffs on it, the black one may be ridden , I havent made my mind up yet, need to get some stickers on it and see!

Ive only just finished the black one, its got a sym hub on the rear until i get my replacement bits for my reverse freecoaster. I dont think ill ever ride the reverse again as it shit the bed after 5 mins of riding. odyssey freecoaster on the chrome one.
Powdercoaters did a reasonable job, i didnt realise there were people on here who did it otherwise id have got them to do it.
Just needs stickers now!!

Not as good as the black one but its my current ride so Im not too bothered.
only new bits are the s+m grand slam bars and a white front brake.

I raced Torkers since 1978 and always did "stunts" when not racing.  When I first saw stunts appearing in magazines around 1978 I thought that was similar to what I was doing.  I kept up with these and it kept getting bigger and bigger. 

When Torker announced they were producing the first Freestyle bike I had to have one!   The frame and fork looked so cool and strong.  Put my bike together with the Freestyler and man what a difference.  The geometry was better, less flex, coaster brake bracket, and the color combo was too trick.

My favorite frame and fork has always been this guy and glad to have it since the very beginning in '82.  To pay tribute to a great frame and fork, rider, and author...I had to build this bike since it was the first ever Freestyle bike.

Been a fan of Bob's since his first Moline's artwork was in Bicycle Motocross Action in the 70's.  He continued to blow me away with his art and then the how-to on the Rockwalk.  I always did various moves and wheelies while goofing around but the how-to's solidified my need to express myself on my bike other than racing. 

Bob got freestyle rollin' in the 70's and when I met him for the first time at the 1981 Rondo Classic, he showed me that bike riding has no bounds...it's infinite.  I started to ride more and more freestyle and when the first Haro Freestyler came out I had to be the first to get one.  Started performing in 1982 and still doin' it today!

Here's an original that started it all and glad to be a part of something from the beginning.  My bike has evolved over time and this is a tribute to Bob and all of Freestyle.  Oh, Bob was blown away when I sent him pictures of the bike before Rockford '07

Thanks Bob and Torker for makin' this gnarly frame & fork.  The best times of my life were when riding this Freestyler!!!

25 Anniversary Haro Freestyler #4

Here is the 4th Anniversary Freestyler signed by Bob and added a little twist to the original.  I ran black Tuff's and whitewall tires in 1984 so mags look great on this bike!

Been riding Haro's since day one and have my original '82 Haro Freestyler modified to be Bob's 1983 BMX PLUS cover shot bike.  The Freestyler was the first and what a great bike it was and is very collectible!

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Haro, Haro Bikes came out with the retro Freestyler.  This was a combination of the 2003 Mirra frame/fork, Haro half chrome/paint look in '87, and Haro's awesome graphics.

The bike comes with alloy 48's but made it a little more Old School by throwin' on some retro Skyway Tuff II's with Kool caps to make them look like OS graphites.  Shimano DX pedals were added to accent the gold hubs.

Must admit, I'm struggling to figure out what this is. Definitely a Haro, but it was advertised as an 88 Sport in the states. I won it for nowt on gaybay, shipped it over, stripped and prepped it for a white coat of paint or two and here it is. I think it could be an 88 Haro Shredder, as the Sport didn't have the little gusset between the top tubes in front of the seatpost, so if anybody knows, please share the knowledge thanks  :daumenhoch:

Doesn't matter to me though as it flies really nicely, so it's my favourite bike this week until I injure myself on it!

1988 Haro Sport / Shredder / don't know, but I stuck a set of trimmed-down Haro Master stickers on it

1987 Haro Sport in chrome /black.
Was originally a red and black frame, paint removed, cleaned up and left at that (looked good enough to me).
'Mid school' feel but with 85 decals. Profile cranks, tuf neck chainring, kneesaver bars, khe pedals, haro tyres & seat, dia compe 990/bulldog brakes.
Few 'filler' parts, not sure of forks TRX copies? unknown silver stem , alex single wall rims, quando hubs

finally got some forkstanders ( had them a while but forgot about em til the other day ) to complete my 86 haro master build. a few little tweaks here and there. shame the dull day didn't do the frame colour justice. should really have scrubbed the tyres and pedals ( this has been ridden on a few occasions and i also got it on tv late last year.)

A  RESTORATION PROJECT

HARO GEN 1 FREESTYLER…Serial No TSS 1235F

Legend has it that  this resto project started its life on eBay  approx 2 yrs ago.
I was outbid on the auction by Dan Harris, who won the bike and left it as a survivor ride, and consequently  got 3rd place in the survivor class at mk06.

Life over the woods wasn’t so bad for the haro in the 80’s being jumped through the bomb holes, and abused, as all good freestylers should be.

So after Dans initial clean up of the bike it was just left in its survivor state. Like this…

I personally kept looking at this bike thinking, that one day I will do it the honour of  cloaking it in some new bling and restoring its parts.

Soon the bike changed hands once  again, not long after the ruler put it through its flatland paces at mk07, the bike was sold on in another auction on rad to raise money for 80’s freestyle legend, stuart ‘pepi’ winder’s funeral.

Rhys ‘lazy chubs’ Maskell was the new owner. But after hearing the pressures of fellow old schoolers not  to restore it he sold it on…..
Heres where my part in the story began.



Straight away, as soon as the bike was in the workshop, she was stripped, all the parts were boxed, awaiting a clean/resto

Then  work on the frame was started….at some point in its life the poor ol’ thing had been bubblegum welded, badly…I had to put this right…

So, the files, dremmel, grinder and varios hacking tools came out, I ground most of the birds crap welds away, then made a template from cardboard, using one of my other gen 1’s as  a guide of the head tube gusset.

The frame now got sent away to have the  fabrication/welding work done on it… I left the frame in mark fuzzy nods hands, he would be taking it to oxford to a funny car/drag race car manufacturer called Andy Robinson Race Cars….these guys are mustard…the work took a while, but I gave mark the work at their busiest time….but the work is quality…

I initially only wanted the head tube gusset replaced, but andy suggested I had the seat tube gusset replaced also, as a hairline crack was present, a common fault in haros.

A  week or so later and the frame was back at HQ…so I went to work with the polishing, preparing for the chrome plate.
So after 4 hrs and a hand from Steve vinoah, it had had the life polished out of it, getting into all the awkward areas.

Now the bit I had been waiting for since first seeing the bike on eBay…I took the frame up to Lee pkradmans house, and he took it to his chrome guy for me…well, after 12hrs at the platers shop we got the call….it was done…wtf….

Ok she has cal-lite pads, skyways, panracer freestyle tyres , 901's ,Tech 3 levers, cw type bars , haro pedals , fusion crank , tioga spider , sugino chain ring , elina ul seat and post , suntor seat clamp , Ami-tri grips and I think a suntor copy stem all NOS apart from the pads.

1999 Haro Ultra - Pics from for seller when I inquired about it.
Got it cheap ($50 CAD / $29.40 GBP) Suggested retail in 1999 was 432.88 GBP which was the highest priced Haro BMX made in 1999. Or so it seems from information I have gathered online.

1987 Haro Master Team

I picked this up last year needing lots of care and attention. Brakes were seized and non stock, levers were bent and non stock, seat was erm.... falling to bits, grips were naff, pedals naff, rims and hubs were dull and generally fair condition. The frame, forks and bars were the only good things about it. I ripped off all the tat and after a lot of searching, buying, waiting, polishing, cleaning, re-lacing and adjusting, here she is, finished ready for summer riding ;-)

Parts run down is :-

    * Team Master F+F with Tange Seiki headset and Chrome locking nut
    * Original Haro fork standers
    * 1st generation Peregrine speedlines laced to Peregrine unsealed 48s with new HGS stainless spokes and nipples
    * Haro 3 piece cranks and BB
    * Peregrine chainring
    * KMC stainless chain
    * Suntour chrome 16T rear freewheel
    * Haro Group 1 stem with potts mod
    * Haro freestyle bars
    * Chrome Oddy Gyro with clear cables and clear Dia-Compe front
    * Tech 77s with Sharp lever covers
    * AD990 polished rear dated '87, Nippon chrome front dated '87
    * Haro fluted layback stem
    * Peregrine seat clamp
    * White A'me Cams
    * White Dominator
    * DMR V12 (the nuts) pedals (Gold SX's now fitted)
    * Gussett pimps 20 X 1.95 on Peregrines NOS Berry Panaracers fitted to Tuffs
    * Custom pad set (cheers S)
    * Haro 26T foot pegs all round

My laced Haro frame. Bought this as a complete in 87 from the Action Bike ads. I send cheque, he sends bike. Trusting times!

The fork had no bearing race, so bearing cage was directly on the crown. Check that wear. Bonkers.
