Post by: macmark on May 07, 2008, 02:20 PM: I used to get off my bike and walk it passed the Pool in case I fell in! I only ever rode around it a few times and even then most of the time someone would have to run in to rescue my bike. Sod dropping in to it. :crazy2:

As a general comment, it seems tuffs were good enough back then to use, but not nowadays :(

Although in my defence that pic was taken whilst me and Chris Young were warming up before a demo, there was plenty of opportunity for them to have published a pic of me with the crash helmet on :knuppel2:

Jedi is as modest as you are Bill.

What he doesn't say is that he was one of the pioneers of MTB freeride in this country, doing drops/hucks on a Cove Hummer hardtail before big bouncy bikes became the norm. And getting off his ass to build one of the first/best north shore complexes in the UK (which I had the pleasure of being invited to ride back in 2002/3). Jedi coached me off some of my first proper drops at Herts Shore (about 5 feet), Chicksands log drop (about 6/7 feet) and Chicksands ladder drop (about 10-25 feet depending how fast you launch off it).

It's all about riding bikes! Just wish I had enough weekends to fit it all in.
