Title: another GT project
Post by: 20to26 on June 13, 2008, 04:20 PM
I was warned when I joined this forum that one wouldn't be where I'd start and end.... this is project number 4 - a near original 2000 model Mach One - the same year one of my lads was born so it did fit my collecting profile. Hid it in my carboot until a good time to reveal it to the missus... it was cheap tho!  ::)

Needs a nice set off Red Ame's I reckon and that seat has got to go! An original GT padded seat from that era would be a great addition  ;).

Hubs are a nice style too. Runs on GT Brody Knobs tyres - rear needs replacing.

Original 4 piece GT stamped bars and Piston Stem. A nice red Shimano DX lever and matching rear Vee arches would make it factory enough for the youngster!

I only paid £46. It's not about being collectable, I agree it's not on anyones wishlist, but after I saw some on BMX museum I thought, mmm - nice enough. Oh, and it was cheap and nearly original - will make a nice Retro project.

:) Some of the very late`90s/early 00s GT bikes are very under-rated.After about 2000 is when they went proper downhill.....
