ta like kids  :-\

but as stidds the 'mod' don't dig the original as it came from Cali' bitd chrome, i av bin in me shed where i built the bike, de-chromin and adding some fookin matt black straight from da rattle can, so as to fit with the painted crowd... i would like to request my poor dull chrome effort not to forwarded into the final voting round as not to further embarress me sen... props to the kids who voted for the shiney stuff.

Your bike is gorgeous mate, I do really like it and it is a worthy winner congratulations.   :4_17_5:

I am just fed up with people voting (not building) for the shiniest bike everytime whether it is the best or not.

It really doesn't matter that I am a 'mod' does that mean that I have to not have an opinion?  I am still a member of this site and have been for a long time and have seen many a bike that doesn't deserve the accolades they get just because it is draped in lashings of chrome.  Gorgeous bikes that have had loads of work put into them finding rare parts and lovingly restored but are painted, get beaten by a run of the mill bike that just has loads of chrome on them.

At the end of the day Ade, your bike was the winner and to be honest even though it is chrome, chrome, chrome (as I put it) it is the best bike in the class and I think you built an absolute stunner and props to you.

Now get ya toys back in your pram and enjoy the moment.  ;)

why put up a sh1tty comment for everyone to see, you are entitled to an opinion even if it is negative but arent you especially being a "mod" supposed to be encouraging people to contribute to the site, comments like that will only put people off, how can he enjoy the moment with snidey comments being put up and it is a pretty snidey comment. all the bikes were top quality, everyone was a winner in my eyes, all you had to say was nice1 mate and well done end of :tickedoff:

nowt wrong with a bit of debate. i have never voted for the winner, i look at era correct parts, balance of look, sort of parts used, overall quality and look of the build.
i have never looked at the money builds as being superior, or that sst hubs as making a build special or similar. I have noticed though, the photography makes a hell of a difference on many occasions.
i voted for: (like anybody cares)
dan's TA in the tribute, my second would have been that redline from snav and third munners gt.
in race i voted for sawzall's side hack, my second would have been dan's white hutch and third pete quad's looptail quad
in cruiser i voted for pete's 26" gt, second would have been the profile and third my old hutch that mark j has tricked out.
in freestyle i voted for dan's TA again, then it would have been antique's torker and third DSD's holmes, and pic of the contest went to joe for that haro thing. cracking picture which won you some votes for sure.
so as usual i was nowhere near, but i know what i like. If your entry didn't get many votes, don't take it to hart. ALL the bikes were good, some were nicer than others but beauty is in the eye of the beholder

I've never really thought about this Chrome vs Painted thing before i read all this, but for my ten pence worth, I voted for Ades JMC as that was a dream bike of mine while I was rocking around on Burners (and later a Redline), i would have loved one of those JMC back then.

I raced from 82-86 and i can honestly say 95% of the bikes either side of me on the start gate were chrome as i remember so maybe subconciously thats why personally, I was drawn to the chrome of the JMC.. LoL WTF am i on about?  ;D

BOTY is so bloody hard to vote here, cause you know each and every one of them was a very special build to the member who put the work in, so it's hard to single one out... just wish i could find the last couple of parts for my builds and get them entered  :-[

Well Done Everyone who Won,Entered & Voted.  :daumenhoch:
