Title: 1980 nickel mongoose (with steel hub tuffs) FINISHED
Post by: bobafett on October 24, 2009, 03:52 PM: Right then - had this frame for a long time now and the bike was built up a couple of times but never felt 100% so it sat on the back burner until I had all the "right" parts. It's now pretty much exactly how I want it.

The nickel is in lovely condition and I've got a few hours polishing time in it since the first time she was built.

Except for the tyres the parts are pretty much era correct and mongoose stock/option correct :)

Nice set of yellow comp 2's might be the final piece but i'm happy with the comp 3's for now ;)

1980 nickel mongoose F/F - CJ0 346981
NOS 1979/80 unstamped mongoose SS bars with original decal (these had the original price sticker on before fitting :shocked: )
mongoose gold stem with original decal (early model non-knurled blocks)
NOS mongoose SS seatpost with original decal (fresh out the packet ! )
NOS original mongoose grips (not new re-pops)
Real nice steel hubbed tuff II's
NOS blue/green label comp III's
NOS Kashimax MX mongoose seat
NOS KKT rat traps
Polished DC890 front DC1020 rear
NOS DC cables
NOS DC clips
NOS Skyway Tuff Pads
Nice Sugino mongoose stamped snowflake ring

real nice.... i am sure mongoose was the first bike manufacturer to get the geometry right, these are the bikes do it for me....

Knowing how long you have spent on this build and the time acquiring the correct parts I think it is fair to say it was time well spent and well worth the hours you put into her .
She's a beaut mate :smitten: and a credit to you ............ ya Goose freak you :D

Looking forward to seeing her in the flesh mate as the last time i saw it it was all in bits .

How many geese is this now John ? (Finished builds ie not the 34 frames you have in and around the house :D )

That's one impressive collection that John :4_17_5: You must be heading towards one of the most complete collections of Geese in the UK when it's finally completed . :daumenhoch:

They are all great builds mate and as much as I love the gusseted geese my personal favourite is the Blue Max :smitten:
