OK so here are some of my Pipeline skatepark pics as promised. It just isn't feasible to post them all so I picked a few that I thought were cool.

practice session the day before the 84 finals

dave vanderspeck

the friday before the competition mrs hoffmann(the owner of pipeline) let me and vanderspeck into the park during the day when it was closed. no one else was allowed in but us. the best part about it was that about an hour later mr. hoffmann opened up the snack bar and said we could help ourselves to any thing we wanted to eat or drink.

this is me, nothing special but I thought it was kinda cool. 1 i'm on my mongoose. 2 i'm riding with tuffs, back when i liked riding with tuffs.
3 I have a number plate on both sides of my bars, so I could put more sponsor stickers on and you could see it even when i did x-ups. 4 i'm wearing fiolas "tricks r 4 kidz" riding pants that he gave to me that morning.

me lookback 85. notice the three feet of vert in that bowl. back in the day in my mind that three foot lookback was just the same as a six foot lookback on any ramp.

That is Hugo "GONZO" Gonzales. That guy was hilarious, my gut ached from laughing so much. The camo truck was Fiolas ride.
I'm still waiting for more pics to come back from the processors. He did a wall ride off the fence on the other side of the full pipe, he was nuts!

i think i have that on a dvd, was that the one where bob haro did the scoring in a fetching pair of black and white check shorts. blyther should have won the highest air comp if its the one i'm thinking of.

Bob Haro was one of the judges, so was Mike dominguez (with a broken foot) and Frank Scura. Here's a couple more.

ANDY, you should speak to carlo as he spoke to HUGO a few weeks ago, i think he is working for FORD motors, and is still a top guy.

Brilliant pics dude! It's good to see some lovely raw pics like that from state-side. Parictularily the ones of Fiola - the man is my hero.

Thanks for sharing, it takes ages to scan and post up pics, but those babies are worth it.

Hey Maurice, it has been a long time, close to 18 yrs or so since I last saw you. Help yourself to anything you can use. I used to have a really good close up of dave from the pipeline but I can't seem to find it. Tell Hugo I said hi.
